This position is eligible for remote work at the present time. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.
Your Responsibilities
As a Product Manager for the Sustainability Solutions team in John Deere's Intelligent Solutions Group, you will define & execute our product strategy through customer discovery, owning delivery of both prototypes and production-grade software, and iterating quickly to achieve product-market fit for both B2B and B2C products. An ideal candidate can handle ambiguity well, make "no regrets" decisions quickly, navigate a complex and technical environment with many stakeholders, and guide relationships with key partners. As part of this, you will:

  • Deeply understand the market and own voice of the customer through direct interaction with customers, as well as by deriving leverage through Deere's Production System teams
  • Establish a clear product strategy and evangelize this across a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Translate product vision into detailed requirements for engineering, data science, design, and customer success. This will include working with adjacent product managers to extend existing work with quick wins, and executing with our engineering group to develop new concepts and improve upon our team's existing products
  • Develop and sustain a healthy product roadmap to ensure the team is working on high priority features that deliver strong customer and business value
  • Navigate ambiguity and make trade-offs to ensure products fail rapidly or guide them to large-scale production

What Skills You Need

  • 4+ years in technology product management in digital software or similar roles
  • Track record of deep customer engagement to understand needs and test & refine products
  • Track record of product delivery in an environment with many stakeholders
  • Strong problem solving, strategic thinking and communication skills - able to distill complex problems into component parts and develop a path forward, including crafting concise product documents that simply communicate complex concepts
  • Track record of using data to drive decisions
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial approach - launch early prototypes, learn, and iterate
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to ~1x/month


What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience with agriculture and soil health
  • Domain knowledge of soil carbon credits, carbon markets, and commodity differentiation programs
  • Experience bringing Data Science-driven features to production
  • Experience with Business Development and B2B sales


Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Economics, Agriculture, or similar
