The Product Management team guides the strategy and vision for Disney's incredible global digital products portfolio - from Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+ and the ESPN App to Marvel Unlimited, National Geographic, ABC and ABC News, and film websites and games. This team impacts the way millions of people around the world experience and engage with Disney's iconic stories and unmatched content in more personalized and immersive ways, leveraging cutting-edge technologies ranging from Machine Learning to Extended Reality.
The Data Solutions & Instrumentation (DSI) team within the Product organization is seeking a detail oriented Data Product Manager to develop data requirements and support the implementation of measurement/analytics solutions across Disney's portfolio of streaming platforms, including Disney+, Hulu & Star+. In this role you'll partner with our Consumer Product team and global analytics stakeholders to ensure the data we're collecting reflects the evolving set of reporting, data science, personalization, and other needs and provides detailed insight into our subscriber's journey and experience within our applications. This role will be focused on ensuring consistency and stability of our data capture across Disney+ and Hulu. While the DSI team takes a roadmap driven product-oriented approach to supporting our measurement solutions, roles within this team are technical and you will partner with our Consumer Software Engineering (CSE) teams to implement requirements and support our Quality Assurance teams through the validation process. The health, stability & evolution of data technology is vital to Disney Streaming and this role plays a key part in the business's success. To be successful in this role, you will need to be detail oriented, creative, and able to anticipate the needs of business stakeholders and technical teams that leverage data to make decisions and power customer experiences. You will ensure our data performs consistency across device platforms and ensure KPI collection continuity through a steady flow of app and web release cycles.
Responsibilities:

  • You will support efforts to implement and maintain consistent instrumentation across Disney+, Hulu & Star+
  • You will help maintain detailed and clear documentation for our continually evolving data product
  • You will collaborate cross functionally with Analytics, Product, Engineering, and Program Management teams to support new product and feature launches with reliable data solutions
  • You will identify and build relationships with key partners & stakeholders across functional groups
  • You will need to creatively resolve blockers and integrate into multiple processes and work streams to accomplish goals
  • You will develop and execute data quality validation checks in Python/PySpark and SQL


Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience with data technology, digital analytics, web development, or similar role implementing and supporting measurement products or relevant enterprise digital analytics solutions or customer data platform.
  • Experience using cloud-based solutions for transforming and exploring large quantities of data (Databricks, Snowflake, etc.)
  • Ability to partner with and support Engineering teams to implement digital measurement solutions.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to translate stakeholder needs into detailed technical specifications.
  • Ability to review analytics implementation accuracy using Charles, Fiddler, or similar HTTP debugging proxy.
  • Strong understanding of product analytics concepts and technology.
  • Demonstrable analytical & problem-solving skills with ability to balance various priorities.
  • High-level of comfort building a roadmap and working within an agile, Jira-driven operating model
  • Demonstrable expertise & passion for the entertainment category with understanding of the digital media landscape.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in computer science, information systems, software, or data science
  • Experience in Product, Engineering or Solutions Architecture at industry leading product analytics or customer data platform organization


Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant years of work experience


The hiring range for this position in Seattle, WA and New York, NY is $118,000 to $158,200 per year and in Bristol, CT and Santa Monica, CA is $112,600 to $151,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
