Candidate Interview Guide

Product Manager, Care Finding

Alma is seeking a mission-driven Product Manager to continue growing our marketplace so clients can easily find the best-fit provider. You’ll be a part of our Care Finding domain, reporting to the Group Product Manager.

In this role, you will be responsible for guiding clients to the right providers for their needs, measured by visit-to-appointment conversion. You will do this by rapidly building and A/B testing new user experiences and search improvements in collaboration with Engineering, Design, Product Marketing, and Data Science.

The ideal person for this role has strong user empathy, is data-driven, can analyze complex data, and is comfortable getting into the technical details.

What you’ll do:

  • Improve a client’s ability to find the right provider for their needs by iterating on and building new experiences and search improvements.
  • Drive the product roadmap in partnership with your Engineering Manager, Product Designer, Data Scientist, Product Marketing Manager, and Engineering team.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the user experience by tracking key metrics and using A/B tests to validate your hypotheses.
  • Collaborate with the sister Care Finding - Provider and Data Science teams to ensure we are holistically delivering on providers’ practice growth goals.

Who you are:

  • Product Management Experience: You have 2-4 years of experience as a Product Manager, with the desire to own and be responsible for a product roadmap - ideally within marketplaces or consumer experiences
  • Product Sense: You operate with a user-centric lens and believe that product thinking belongs at every level, not just what the user sees.
  • Experimentation Mindset: You center your thinking around clear hypotheses and enjoy A/B testing and iterating to validate what works best for users.
  • Data-Driven: You are well-versed in pulling and analyzing data to drive your decisions, but are not afraid to use your intuition to move quickly.
  • Technical Familiarity: You are able to understand and collaborate with the engineering team on technical design documents, experiment designs, and user-impacting implementation details.
  • Effective Communicator: You have a clear and engaging communication style with a track record of building positive relationships across a broad, diverse organization.

Benefits:

  • We’re a remote-first company
  • Health insurance plans through Aetna (medical and dental) and MetLife (vision), including FSA and HSA plans
  • 401K plan (ADP)
  • Monthly therapy and wellness stipends
  • Monthly co-working space membership stipend
  • Monthly work-from-home stipend
  • Financial wellness benefits through Northstar
  • Pet discount program through United Pet Care
  • Financial perks and rewards through BenefitHub
  • EAP access through Aetna
  • One-time home office stipend to set up your home office
  • Comprehensive parental leave plans
  • 11 paid holidays, 1 Alma Mental Health Day, and 1 Alma Volunteering Day
  • Flexible PTO

Salary Band: $125,000 - $145,000

Alma’s compensation philosophy is driven by our company value of building equity. To best ensure pay equity, we typically bring in new hires near the middle of our listed salary bands and we do not negotiate our compensation (i.e. all people hired at the same level & role are brought in at the same salary, equity, and benefits). The recruiter you work with can provide more details on our philosophy.

All Alma jobs are listed on our careers page. We do not use outside applications or automated text messaging in our recruiting process. We will not ask for any sensitive financial or identification information throughout the recruiting process. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
