Product Designer II, Actions - Workflow Automation
At Datadog, we're on a mission to build the best monitoring platform in the world-but monitoring alone isn't enough. The Actions & Remediation team is closing the loop by enabling users to take direct action on their observability data. As we expand this platform, we're looking for a Product Designer to help shape the future of Workflow Automation in observability and monitoring. Workflow Automation empowers users to streamline processes across their tech stack with a library of pre-built actions and customizable blueprints, all accessible through an intuitive point-and-click interface. By integrating real-time observability with automated remediation, it enables users to respond to issues instantly, ensuring faster and more confident problem resolution.
As a Product Designer on the Workflow Automation team, you'll contribute to the core Workflows experience by improving Workflow visualization, interaction patterns, and the overall builder experience. You'll collaborate closely with three other designers, collectively driving the user experience across our suite of products. You will also partner closely with Product Managers and Engineers to enhance usability and introduce new functionality. The ideal candidate thrives on solving complex technical problems, adapts quickly to new challenges, and is driven by a commitment to creating intuitive, user-centered experiences.
At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.
What You'll Do:
- Work with product managers, engineers, and designers to understand how our customers use Datadog and what they need to succeed.
- Work with amazing teammates to help design cutting edge, simple, elegant features.
- See your design work through from start to finish: turn insights from user research into ideas, sketch and prototype to bring them to life, and ship products and features that make Datadog better.
- Develop expertise in your product area, learning from and collaborating with designers on the team.
- Communicate both your design work and your design decisions to your product team, the design team, and the whole company.
- Work closely with engineering teams to understand how your designs will be built and Q/A them before we ship.
Who You Are:
- You have 4+ years of experience in digital product design.
- You are a doer. Your portfolio includes a proven track record of shipping intuitive web experiences.
- You are an excellent visual and written communicator, effectively articulating your design work and the reasoning behind your decisions.
- You have experience with advanced modern-day UX/UI tools (e.g. Figma, Sketch, Framer, Principle).
- You understand systems thinking and component-based design patterns.
- You receive feedback well and turn feedback into action to improve your work and how you work with others.
Bonus Points:
- Familiarity designing for developer tools, canvas tools, and/or low code/no code tools.
- You have experience in a SaaS or B2B startup and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- You have experience participating in research (e.g. usability testing, competitor analysis, user interviews).
Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you're passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply.
