Make Your Mark:
The Senior category manager - Marketing - will support business owners by leading negotiations and supporting stakeholders spend requirements.
You'll Get To:

  • Lead negotiations and drive project approval completion.
  • Work closely with multiple teams to gather approvals through procurement process.
  • Assist with contract and key suppliers to negotiate optimal commercial terms and conditions
  • Lead category planning. Ensure strategy incorporates BlackLine's company -wide strategy
  • Develop and execute analysis supporting strategic and tactical category plans
  • Assist in the development of contracts in accordance with internal legal requirements
  • Develop RFXs and analyses for supplier selection. Lead supplier negotiations for the enterprise commercial terms as well as product and services costs.
  • Build performance-based supplier relationships that lead to optimal pricing, quality improvements, process improvements and solutions delivery
  • Align with functional areas (Marketing) to ensure the cost savings and cost mitigation related to sourcing and supplier management activities
  • Ability to utilize interpersonal styles to effectively adapt to new work structures, processes
  • Partner with stakeholders and budget owners to support business requirements
  • Support stakeholder's spend requirements and priorities by guiding procurement-led initiatives including supplier consolidation and rationalization activities
  • Establish preferred suppliers and ensure that proper policies are used and applied
  • Understand your assigned category supplier markets. Assess supplier capabilities to meet our internal requirements globally.
  • Select supplier sources by guiding competitive sourcing activities
  • Manage supplier performance for key suppliers via stakeholder feedback and performance-based metrics and QBR's
  • Ensure that appropriate business controls are in place to reduce risk


What You'll Bring:

  • Years of Experience in Related Field: 9-15 years of procurement experience


Education: Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or a related field; MBA degree or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) certification is a plus
Technical/Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Extensive experience developing and leading strategic sourcing initiatives for IT, Marketing and related purchases
  • Solid analytical skills in performing bid analysis, cost analysis, fair-value analysis, and scenario modeling
  • Complex problem-solving skills in development and implementation of creative solutions
  • Solid experience with contract negotiations at senior levels
  • Experience building solid relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders and suppliers
  • Record of successfully influencing a wide range of stakeholders
  • Experience leading multi-disciplined projects with minimal amount of supervision
  • Experience presenting complex ideas to management in a simplified manner
  • Customer service-oriented with the ability to work well as part of a team
