We partner with engineering, product, security, and legal teams to build privacy compliance solutions, automate processes, and integrate privacy-by-design into Block's ecosystem.
As a Privacy Program Manager, you will guide important compliance programs, develop and implement privacy policies, and use privacy-enhancing and GRC technologies to support regulatory compliance and risk management. Your work will have an impact on scaling privacy operations, streamlining compliance workflows, and embedding automation-first solutions into our privacy program.
You Will

  • Prepare and maintain program documentation for regulatory compliance and privacy inquiries, applying automation and privacy tech solutions to manage records of personal data processing (RoPAs), data inventories, and privacy impact assessments.
  • Partner with engineering teams to operationalize privacy principles and enhance privacy-by-design capabilities within products and systems.
  • Support ongoing measurement and auditing of the privacy program using data-driven insights to evaluate the effectiveness of privacy policies.
  • Assess and ensure implementation of technical and organizational measures that support compliance.

You Have

  • 5+ years of directly related experience in privacy program management or data protection and governance within a technology-driven environment.
  • CIPP (e.g., CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPM or CIPT), CDPSE certification, or an equivalent privacy or security certification with demonstrated expertise in data protection and compliance.
  • Experience analyzing personal data issues in the context of product launches and modifications, ensuring privacy risks are identified and addressed early in the development lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with tools like JIRA and Zendesk, identifying opportunities for automation, optimizing workflows, and reducing operational overhead.
  • Understanding of data infrastructures, data flows, and data collection and processing activities.
  • Experience assessing and implementing privacy controls and privacy-by-design principles within technical systems.
  • In-depth understanding of privacy policies, principles, and technologies and familiarity with privacy control frameworks.
  • Experience navigating privacy regulations, including GDPR and CCPA and other global frameworks.

Even better:

  • Experience working with privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs), privacy compliance tools (e.g., Relyance, OneTrust, or similar platforms), and GRC tools (e.g., AuditBoard) to support risk management, compliance tracking, and program automation.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
