As our Privacy Analyst, you will work with the other members of the R1 privacy team. Every day you will assess, monitor, investigate, educate on, and promote compliance with all federal and state data and information privacy requirements and address client and operational practices.

The Privacy Analyst will also support R1’s comprehensive strategy and growth plans in helping to ensure that the company exhibits and maintains a robust privacy compliance program in safeguarding Protected Health Information (“PHI”). To thrive in this role you will have experience with health information privacy (including, but not limited to, HIPAA), healthcare compliance, regulatory analysis and interpretation, and/or compliance investigations.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Receiving, documenting, tracking, investigating, and taking action on data incidents and issues concerning compliance with applicable privacy laws and regulations and/or the Company’s privacy policies and procedures;
  • Ensuring consistent application of sanctions for failure to comply with privacy policies in cooperation with others on the R1 privacy team, Human Resources and legal counsel, as applicable
  • Developing compliance-based metrics and reporting mechanisms to track privacy and data incident concerns as reported into or otherwise identified by compliance;
  • Working with internal teams to remediate any activities for continuous privacy improvement, including managing projects for privacy and compliance enhancement;
  • Supporting the Company’s proactive efforts to monitor, educate on, and promote compliance with all federal, state, and international privacy requirements;
  • Assisting in annual compliance and risk assessments;
  • Maintaining focus on operational excellence through risk mitigation and protection of data to improve quality and customer satisfaction;
  • Assisting in development of and enhancements to the company’s Compliance & Ethics Program;
  • Demonstrating ability and comfort working with and reporting to a broad spectrum of service lines and professionals, ranging from senior management to front-line site and service leaders, including clients, and vendors; and
  • Flexibly assisting in other areas of concern to the compliance team to benefit the Company’s privacy posture.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a health care related field, or bachelor’s degree in any field with related experience
  • At least two (2) years of related experience, preferably in a hospital or healthcare environment, or within the healthcare industry more broadly.
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Ability to think strategically and analyze complex compliance issues
  • Proven research, writing and communication skills
  • High degree of integrity, trust and ability to work independently
  • Professional, ethical, and discrete in maintaining proprietary and confidential information

For this US-based position, the base pay range is $50,065.98 - $77,527.90 per year . Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
