Your future team
We're hiring a Principal Technical Program Manager, reporting to our Head of Technical Program Management for Developer Productivity.
As a Principal Technical Program Manager, you will help shape our Technical Program Management organisation as a senior individual contributor. The goal is to steer our Engineering organisation through growth and remove barriers in the journey towards our long-term goals. You will have a unique challenge of finding agreement by creating guardrails and removing barriers to help our engineering teams accelerate.
What you'll do

  • Lead several initiatives to support Developer Productivity across our large scaling Engineering teams.
  • Understand business objectives and translate them into technical systems problems that need to be prioritised solved in the current business environment through programs
  • Use your technical understanding of Atlassian and related systems to partner with and influence engineers and architects in making progress on these problems.
  • Be accountable for the success of these technical programs by managing the entire lifecycle from initiation to forecasting, budgeting, scheduling, etc.
  • Manage complex dependencies and projects with a broad scope across the company


Your background

  • 7+ years of program leadership experience on software teams, in an Engineering or Development Manager, Technical Program Manager, or Platform Product Manager capacity
  • Experience in software development and leading complex engineering projects that work through large-scale company wide challenges, spanning multiple technical teams
  • Expertise in setting the vision and developing program roadmaps, including making important decisions to keep projects on track, managing and mitigating risks and dependencies, and driving adoption and change
  • Experience partnering with Executive sponsors and engineering partners; including Executives, Senior Architects, and Senior Engineering Managers
  • You'll have a product thinking mindset that always has the customer (internal and external) front of mind in everything you do


Compensation
At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $200,100 - $266,800
Zone B: $180,100 - $240,100
Zone C: $166,100 - $221,400
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
