Position Summary:

The Principal Systems Architect provides architectural oversight, design, planning and development across Truckstop’s technology infrastructure, platforms, and systems.   They are responsible to ensure Truckstop’s systems architecture is optimized to deliver efficient and cost affective service to the business while ensuring systems are performant, work well together, and synergize where appropriate.  They work closely with Truckstop Architecture teams across Devops, software engineering, data, and security to provide highly available and performant platforms to Truckstop Partners and its Customers.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provides technical leadership in strategy, roadmap, design, development, and implementation of technology solutions, including the assessment and optimization of system design and review of requirements.
  • Build and maintain Disaster Recovery planning for Truckstop. This includes building frameworks for common DR tasks, leading DR practice exercises, and being prepared to lead DR if needed.
  • Provides direction to determine technical and operational feasibility of solutions that are integrated with the existing or defined IT architecture and services standards, to meet defined technical requirements.
  • Develops prototypes of the system design and works with DevOps, Data Engineering, Software engineering, network, database, IT operations, technical support, Product, and other IT areas as appropriate throughout development and implementation processes to improve system resilience and reliability.
  • Mentors’ architects and senior engineers and advises senior management.
  • Provides IT Solution Engineering technical leadership to ensure that design, development, and testing activities conform to the strategic and tactical direction for individual initiatives.
  • Provides technical supervision on complex programs.
  • Responsible for providing senior level expertise on decisions and priorities regarding the enterprise's overall systems architecture    
  • Provides technical guidance to project and operational teams as appropriate
  • May lead complex projects or tasks that require coordination across various IT and business disciplines
  • Deep level understanding of system integration and infrastructure processes and procedures
  • Expected to develop, propose, implement, and promote continuous improvement
  • Review architecture for TSG applications, and ensure it is meeting standards, and is a good fit.
  • Assess and apply modern technology and automation to improve performance and efficiency in the environment. 
  • Ensure Security standards are adhered to and part of architecture and design. 
  • Ensure alignment between business strategies, information technology roadmap, and technical and tactical deployment teams
  • Build system and application architectures to achieve defined business needs.
  • Demonstrated technology skills across multiple technology domains (application, security, infrastructure, information, integration, )
  • Strong consultative skills at a cross-functional level
  • Strong understanding of technology, platforms, processes and frameworks (e.g., Integration, Cloud , Data, Zero-Trust Multi-Cloud Networking and DevOps)
  • Demonstrated leadership on large scale projects impacting strategic priorities
  • Monitor and analyze industry, technology, and market trends to determine their potential impact or application for the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in IT Operations.
  • 4 years of Cloud Architecture Experience
  • 5+ years AWS\Azure experience 
  • Experience communicating across cross-functional teams and senior leadership
  • Build system and application architectures to achieve defined business needs.
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems while confronted with ambiguity
  • Demonstrated technology skills across multiple technology domains (application, security, infrastructure, information, integration)
  • Strong consultative skills at a cross-functional level
  • Strong understanding of technology, platforms, processes and frameworks (e.g., Integration, Cloud, Data, Network and DevOps)
  • Demonstrated leadership on large scale projects impacting strategic priorities

In an effort to provide greater transparency, we are sharing the base salary range for this position. The position is also eligible for a yearly bonus. Final salary is based on a number of factors including market location, job-related knowledge, education/training, certifications, key skills, experience, internal peer equity as well as business considerations.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$188,000$235,000 USD

The above description covers the most significant duties performed but does not include other related occasional work that may be assigned or is completed by the employee.
