This role reports directly to the VP of Product for Yahoo Mail and will be pivotal in shaping the future of the Mail Plus subscription offering. The successful candidate will own the full product lifecycle for Mail Plus, from strategy and execution to optimization. This includes driving revenue growth by improving conversion rates, reducing churn, and evolving the value proposition with innovative, user-centric features. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a passion for creating seamless and engaging subscription experiences that meet user needs and deliver measurable business impact.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Subscription Growth: Develop and execute a comprehensive growth strategy, leveraging advanced customer segmentation, lifecycle marketing, and personalized onboarding experiences to maximize subscription acquisition and retention.

  • Innovative User Value Creation: Lead the identification, ideation, and development of new premium features informed by market trends, user feedback, and competitive analysis to enhance the overall value of the Mail Plus subscription offering.

  • Proactive Churn Mitigation: Build predictive churn models using data-driven insights to anticipate and address customer pain points, while designing tailored retention initiatives such as win-back campaigns and loyalty programs.

  • End-to-End Product Ownership: Oversee the entire product lifecycle, including roadmap prioritization, feature delivery, and iteration based on user feedback and key performance metrics.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner effectively with design, engineering, marketing, and analytics teams to deliver cohesive subscription experiences, ensuring alignment with overall business and user goals.

  • Data-Driven Performance Optimization: Define and monitor critical subscription KPIs, leveraging analytics to uncover opportunities for growth and improvement, and delivering regular performance updates to stakeholders.
     

Qualifications

  • Experience: 8+ years of product management experience, with a focus on consumer subscription businesses.

  • Subscription Monetization Expertise: Demonstrated success in driving growth for subscription-based products, with a deep understanding of acquisition funnels, retention mechanics, and pricing strategies.

  • Data Proficiency: Strong expertise in leveraging data analytics, customer insights, and A/B testing to guide decision-making and optimize product performance.

  • Strong Leadership Capabilities: Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to drive alignment across cross-functional teams and present compelling business cases to executives.

  • Consumer Experience: Experience with email or messaging platforms, or other consumer utility products, is highly desirable.

  • User-Centric Approach: A user-first mindset with a proven ability to balance short-term deliverables with long-term strategic vision.

  • Strategic Vision: Proven ability to develop and execute long-term strategies that drive measurable business impact.

The compensation for this position ranges from $136,125.00 - $283,750.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
