As a Principal Product Manager on the Roblox Studio team focusing on animation tooling, you will drive the vision and strategy for our tools that empower creators to bring characters and experiences to life. You will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, designers, and other product leaders to deliver best-in-class solutions that enable our global community to create engaging 3D animations. Reporting to the Director of Product, Roblox Studio, you will be at the forefront of shaping the future of how creators, developers, and artists approach animation on our platform.

You will:

  • Define and implement the product roadmap for animation tooling within Roblox Studio, ensuring alignment with company and team objectives
  • Steer cross-functional teams (engineering, design, product marketing, etc.) to deliver innovative features that delight our users and streamline creator workflows
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to capture feedback, prioritize improvements, and ensure our tools meet evolving community needs
  • Include a data-informed approach to find opportunities for product optimization, iteration, and long-term growth
  • Help guide the vision for animation at Roblox, influencing broader company thinking and strategy around 3D character and environmental animation

You have:

  • Proven experience in building, shipping, or supporting animation tools or pipelines, ideally in a 3D-focused environment (such as games, visual effects, or animation software)
  • Experience working with and supporting animators either as a vendor or in a production environment
  • A deep understanding of the product life cycle, from concept to launch and ongoing support
  • A history of successfully collaborating with engineering teams and cross functional partners to deliver sophisticated, technical products on time
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, 3D Animation or Games Production or a similar technical field
  • Passion for driving user-centric product decisions with an inclusive and strategic mentality

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.

Annual Salary Range

$324,450$375,590 USD

Roles that are based in our San Mateo, CA Headquarters are in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
