• 3+ years of Cloud Provider (AWS, Azure or GCP) customer facing architecture development experience

What are the typical goals for the role?

Proactive customer guidance:

  • Technical Industry Overview and Architecture: how is the Industry adopting Snowflake, and which Industry value drivers does Snowflake attach to?

  • Technical Use Case Overviews: extend Use Case presentations with how the Use Cases might be addressed, technical architectures and decision points.

  • Ecosystem partner engagement: does the customer need an interface or vendor guidance with ecosystem partners?  Is there an ecosystem participant without a Data Cloud presence we should introduce to the wider Snowflake team?  Perhaps a data provider which is currently not Marketplace ready?  We can facilitate these conversations and advocate for the customer and the vendor with other teams within Snowflake.

  • Solution architecture and review: Snowflake has a diverse ecosystem of Industry participants with domain-specific solutions to a wide range of Use Cases, and domain-specific architecture reviews play a key role..

  • Strategic stakeholder alignment: C-level and direct reports may require strategic, longer running relationships which maintain consistency and alignment across business units and use cases, especially so in global organizations.  The platform architect role can help maintain global consistency of vision and assist individual geographies and allow the Lead SE to focus on the individual account management.

  • Technical Industry trend PoV: Data Mesh, Data Vault, GenAI, Data Lakes vs Warehouse vs Lakehouses… view these technical trends through an Industry lens, including case studies, challenges and tradeoffs.

  • Snowdays: bring in the wider team!  Complement the customer’s point of view with a wider Industry perspective, perhaps including assistance with bespoke Solution/lab setups for the subindustry.

  • RFP support: some RFPs have an Industry backdrop, and may request information on the Communications, Media, and Entertainment Data Cloud, or otherwise require a perspective on specific Industry topics.

Internal Engagement

We are always looking for ways to scale our offering.  We welcome opportunities to gather a group of SE’s to drive and foster better industry alignment and knowledge sharing.  Creating scalable content and driving adoption of key Use Cases is the primary goal for the role so finding ways to spread the message both internally and externally is critical.

Partner Engagement

Our team is always looking for new and innovative ways to solve key use cases.  This includes engaging with key partners to develop industry best practices, architectures and demos.

Industry Events

Our team of specialists is most likely already involved with key industry events.  If there is something that makes sense to bring us into, please let us know how we can help.

Snowflake is growing fast, and we’re scaling our team to help enable and accelerate our growth. We are looking for people who share our values, challenge ordinary thinking, and push the pace of innovation while building a future for themselves and Snowflake.

And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
