Position PurposeUnder general management, engages in audit analyses for commercial line policies. Reviews relevant policyholder records to identify and communicate risk exposures and ensure appropriate premiums are charged. Responsible for scheduling audits, conducting reviews, and providing a summary of results to underwriting, producers, and policyholders. Responsible for overall audit results and reports to management.Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Engages in premium audit analyses to ensure proper premiums are being charged.
  • Audits relevant policyholder records, including financial statements, payroll records, and accounting records.
  • Gathers data to determine actual earned exposures for workers' compensation, general liability, and excess liability policies.
  • Contacts underwriters or producers to reconcile discrepancies between audit information and policy statement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field
  • 2+ years of related experience  
  • [OR] equivalent level of education and experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Competencies

  • Ability to examine and process large quantities of financial records to determine proper policy exposures. 
  • Ability to effectively manage relationships with underwriters, producers, and policyholders.
  • Ability to use spreadsheet software to summarize and analyze large amounts of policyholder data.
  • Ability to analyze and improve workflow, process and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate audit process with insureds from a nontechnical perspective.

Compensation OverviewThe base salary range for the position is listed below. Please note that the base salary is only one component of our robust total rewards package at RLI. The salary offered will take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications/credentials, talent availability & specialization, as well as business needs. The below range may be modified in the future. Base Pay Range$53,326.00 - $74,789.00
