THE ROLE 


We are looking for an exceptional Payroll Coordinator with strong attention to detail and communication skills. The Payroll Coordinator should be highly organized and capable of managing multiple payroll processes with precision and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of payroll systems, tax regulations, and compliance requirements while demonstrating problem-solving skills and a commitment to confidentiality.


To ensure success, the Payroll Coordinator should possess a keen eye for accuracy, and the ability to adapt to evolving payroll and compliance requirements. Top candidates love to work in a fast-paced, growing environment, be comfortable with ambiguity, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams while independently managing payroll tasks and projects as needed.


This is a hybrid position and you must be in the office at least two (2) days per week or more depending on business needs. As a member of the People Ops team it is expected that you be available in-office all week during company event weeks (generally on a quarterly basis) to support your peers with company event deliverables. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and process bi-weekly and off-cycle payrolls for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Maintain payroll records, employee tax information, direct deposit details, garnishments, address and benefits deductions.
  • Process termination pays accurately and on time in accordance with respective local state and federal guidance. 
  • Investigate, resolve and respond to payroll discrepancies, errors, or employee concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Assist with internal and external payroll audits, ensuring all necessary documentation and records are available and accurate.
  • Collaborate with the Payroll Supervisor in partnering with Accounting, HR, Finance, and external vendors to ensure seamless payroll operations and compliance with company policies.
  • Review and verify timekeeping records for accuracy, ensuring compliance and timely entries on these records. 
  • Maintain the Payroll SOP manual with the most up-to-date information and process improvements. 
  • Support with tax filings and registrations for any new states where locations or remote workforce resides. 
  • Ability to support bicoastal hours as business needs arise and more consistently on company payroll weeks. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • 2+ years of previous payroll experience
  • Familiarity with working with HR/Payroll systems for processing (Dayforce a plus)
  • Experience working with hourly and salaried employees 
  • Entry level excel and google suite knowledge
  • Multistate experience with hourly workforce a plus
  • High attention to detail, accuracy and confidentiality is of utmost importance.
  • Excellent problem solving skills and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and deadline driven environment.
  • Desire to pursue a career in People Operations and maintain knowledge of HR and Payroll processes and best practices.
