About the Role
As an Associate in Partner Operations Excellence (POE), you will play a pivotal role in driving operational success across Instacart’s retail partners. You’ll serve as both an internal and external expert, ensuring our fulfillment and in-store technologies are seamlessly integrated into retailers’ operations to deliver a best-in-class customer and associate experience.

In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to provide operational insights during the launch of new retailers and the rollout of new tools. Externally, you’ll partner with retailers to assess their operational landscape, advising on launch strategies, store setups, and process improvements. Post-launch, you’ll continue to influence retailer success by driving engagement, ensuring metric-driven stabilization, and facilitating ongoing optimization efforts.

This position requires a proactive, strategic mindset, adaptability to changing conditions, and strong client relationship skills. Your efforts will directly contribute to transforming retail operations, elevating performance across Instacart’s technologies and product lines. 

About the Team 

You’ll be joining the Retail Ops Excellence (ROE) team, a driving force behind operational success for Instacart’s retail partners. The ROE team is instrumental in scaling in-store technology and fulfillment solutions to unlock growth, optimize efficiency, and enhance the in-store experience for both customers and retailers. As the retailer management arm of ROE, the Partner Ops Excellence team partners with retailers to deliver strategic guidance, helping them balance growth, quality, and operational excellence.

By leveraging deep relationships and retail insights, the POE team ensures that our technology empowers retailers to achieve best-in-class performance across their operations, providing proactive support that aligns with each partner’s unique goals. Together, we shape the future of retail by enabling operational innovations that drive success across the board.


About the Job 

  • Drive operational excellence across retailers using our fulfillment and in-store technology by leveraging strong retailer relationships to influence their store operations
  • Introduce & train retailers on Instacart fulfillment and in-store technologies
  • Collaborate with Business Development Account Managers and retail partners to guide retailer programs for fulfillment and in-store technology
  • Collect and analyze data to identify operationally-driven growth, quality, and efficiency opportunities 
  • Drive program improvement by gathering and synthesizing partner feedback on how Instacart’s products or processes impact their in-store operations
  • This role requires moderate travel, up to 25% of the time, to maintain retailer relationships, implement new tools and understand in-store operational complexities

About You

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in operations, account management, or a related field; bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Proven experience managing both internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficient with G Suite and MS Office
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including real-time support and troubleshooting
  • Ability to manage key relationships and maintain strong partnerships with Instacart’s top retailers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated sense of ownership and attention to detail, with a problem-solving mindset
  • Proficiency in data and analytics to drive actionable insights and improvements
  • Flexible and resourceful approach to finding solutions and building long-term strategies
  • Positive and energetic attitude, capable of thriving in demanding environments
  • Background in corporate retailer management or in-store operations is preferred
