The Opportunity
The Paralegal will be responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Legal department. Primary role is to manage various legal responsibilities, including document management, subpoena and basic litigation support, maintenance and preparation of corporate documentation, and managing annual insurance process.
Day in the Life

Support the day-to-day activities and projects of the enterprise-wide Legal department.

Support company state filings and insurance coverages.

Develop and implement procedures for contract management and document retention in compliance with company policy.

Track and review outside counsel (including bill management and budgeting).

Prepare, track, organize and file various documents, including but not limited to, secretary of state filings, insurance policies, company and individual license applications, renewals and other reports and documents, as needed.

Assist with legal and compliance projects, including due diligence (vendor and client), necessary filings, and policy updates.

Collaborate with Corporate Counsels to analyze and respond to subpoena requests and other litigation issues.

Update and maintain tracking spreadsheets, such as, but not limited to, approval and products spreadsheets and budgets.

Set up and track Legal files.

Assist with template creation and formatting upon provided direction.

Responsible for reporting risks that are identified to the appropriate team and/or management. Additionally, responsible for managing, monitoring and reporting risks within the scope of your work area, to include, but not limited to Information Security risks.

Other projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college in business or related field; or a minimum of five years legal experience; or a combination of education and experience.

Corporate paralegal or risk/legal background.

Paralegal certificate
-
5+ Years as a paralegal (either in a law firm or in-house role)
-
Experience in Financial institution and/or credit union

Actual Pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
