Responsibilities:
• Manage a remote accounting team, including scope of work, job time budgets and job profitability • Provides general advisory service to clients, via scheduled remote meetings regarding the interpretation and use of financial statements • Direct point of contact from real estate investment client engagements • Partners with client from private equity, joint venture, and other investors to maintain and foster relationship with primary focus on real estate industry • Research and share knowledge of best practices in areas of business concern or interest to each client • Calculating investor returns, budgeting/forecasting asset performance and prepares financial data for loan covenants • Advises on cash flow, debt structure and leverage • Interested in leveraging data analytics and embracing new technology, including various accounting software • Provide technical accounting assistance to clients and internal team • Advise client on process improvement in their accounting department and internal controls • Meets with investors to review management reports, and other key performance indicators • Prepares financial data for loan covenants if applicable • Mentor and train direct reports to grow in their roles and responsibilities
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting • 8+ years of advanced, hands on full cycle accounting experience including financial statement preparation within the Real Estate industry • Previous public accounting experience preferred • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience • Ability to quickly embrace, adapt and learn new technology that will include various accounting softwares • Experience with Netsuite, Yardi, Appfolio, QuickBooks Online and Sage Intacct preferred but not required • Proven ability to build and manage relationships • Professional certification (e.g. CPA, CMA) preferred but not required • Demonstrate the ability to adapt and learn quickly
