About the role:


Kong is looking for an experienced project manager to manage projects within the Marketing team. As the Marketing Project Manger, you will be responsible for executing and maintaining the project management process including project planning, delivery, communication, and documentation for the Kong Marketing team. The Marketing Project Manager role will be pivotal to driving overall marketing project success from conception to execution. This role sits within the Marketing PMO function, reporting to the Lead Program Manager. 

What you’ll do

  • Lead and manage complex, cross-functional projects from initiation to completion for web development, demand generation, creative, and product marketing teams. 
  • Work with a global website team, partnering with UX design and engineering, and peers across graphic design, content, and SEO to deliver a world-class web experience.
  • Ensure teams are held accountable for meeting project deadlines and achieving milestones while addressing challenges and removing blockers to keep projects on track.
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes, tools, and workflows across the department to reduce friction, improve efficiency, and drive team alignment.
  • Work with project owners and team members to align project deliverables and timelines, assess project risks, and communicate status with stakeholders.
  • Own setting up projects using project management tools (Asana), creating and maintaining project templates, and documentation.
  • Maintain consistent reporting and communication to all key stakeholders, including the Marketing leadership team, keeping them apprised of project status, risks, and changes to projects.
  • And any additional tasks required by manager.

What is Needed

  • 5+ years of marketing experience with minimum 3 years in project or program management experience. B2B experience in tech/SaaS areas preferred.
  • Experience working with web engineering, SEO, digital, and technical teams within Marketing. 
  • Experience in program management fundamentals — team building, role definition, risk management, work breakdown, project tracking, etc.
  • Strong leadership capabilities to advise on goal setting, developing roadmaps, and resource planning to teams working through sophisticated web programs and launches.
  • Ability to analyze and implement processes and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Proficiency in working with project management tools, particularly Asana.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated individual who’s passionate about working across teams.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, related fields, or equivalent work experience
  • PMP or Agile/Scrum certifications a strong plus

Kong has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to specific candidate location, role, skill set and level of experience. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards including sales incentives depending on the terms of the applicable plan and role. Benefits may vary depending on location. US based employees are typically offered access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short and long term disability benefits, basic life and AD&D insurance, among others. The typical base pay range for this role in the US is $90,000-$110,000.
