Manager, Workday Financials Consulting
The Manager, Workday Financials Consulting is a “go to” practice leader, expected to provide expert guidance to the Financials Consulting management team and their subsequent team members. This individual will assist the sales team with sales activities, such as orals, estimations and Statements of Work (SOWs). This person works closely with Engagement Managers, Project Managers, Managing Consultants, and leads, and acts as a liaison between the Consulting team and executive management. This person will assist in identifying business needs, staffing projects, and ensuring that the work/life balance of our consultants is monitored and adjusted appropriately.
Responsibilities:
Project Oversight:
- Oversight responsibility for Workday Financials projects across the practice
- Oversee and assist engagement/project managers and team members when needed to identify project needs, reduce risk and develop solutions and strategies
Sales Support:
- Support the RFP response and pursuit process for Financials Consulting work
Team Leadership:
- Assist in the recruitment, development, and management of a diverse, remote team of consultants supporting Workday applications
- Promote a team-oriented, challenging, and innovative work environment
- Lead and manage Managers and Consultants to ensure consultants are adhering to the activities, processes and procedures outlined in Workday and Cognizant's Implementation Methodology
- Drive team and individuals to achieve high client satisfaction levels
- Ability to establish immediate credibility with clients and within the company; can build consensus and achieve goals through influence
- Ability to build trust-based relationship and identify and foster business development opportunities
People Development:
- Perform role of mentor and coach
- Analyze team skills and provide for cross training to maintain teams’ ability to staff projects appropriately
- Advise management team on team members’ level of expertise and availability
Performance Management:
- Establish direct reports’ goals and objectives during the bi-annual review process
- Direct the collection of performance feedback from client and engagement/project manager on a quarterly basis or upon completion of project for your entire team
- Direct the collection of all internal contributions for team members assuring data is received by HR on a quarterly basis
- Drive bi-annual performance review process for the Consulting team
Skills & Requirements
- Minimum of 3-5 years of Workday Financials Consulting implementation experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Proven experience leading a virtual team for 2+ years
- Required consulting characteristics: fast learner, detail-oriented, decisive, and enjoy fast paced work environments
- Required management characteristics: develop new relationships, cultivate growth in others, understand motivations, identify development opportunities, provide practice leadership, execute effective management techniques that support the success of the practice and your consultants
- Must work well within and across teams to get things accomplished
- Possess sales engagement experience estimating and presenting to prospects
- Minimal travel required, but must be willing to travel on-site if needed
Salary and Other Compensation

The annual salary for this position is between $148,824 - $188,193 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program , based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
