Job Description
The Opportunity
BAE Systems Intelligence & Security (I&S) University function is looking for a dedicated professional with the requisite skills, training, and experience to design and implement instructional training programs for the I&S Sector. Directly reporting to the I&S Chief Technology Officer, the Manager, Technical Training and Development will lead I&S University and will work collaboratively with Human Resources and Talent Development. The manager will apply instructional design methodologies and modern trends to development pathways and other key technical training approaches to continuously develop our 6500 employees in the I&S sector of BAE Systems.
The Role

  • Lead the I&S University with establishing a solid curriculum through curriculum analysis and instructional design, development, and implementation
  • Perform detailed needs and task analyses, scope curriculum, and evaluate existing training options to identify the most appropriate training approach and content to meet the learning needs
  • Support the sector CTO and business area Chief Engineers with training strategies and programs to help them achieve their goals
  • Engage technical SMEs to set learning and performance objectives
  • Develop content/curriculum to meet future business needs that support program execution and operational excellence
  • Analyze the audience, content, technologies, operational constraints, and trade offs associated with selecting the best delivery methods for each objective to optimize design and implementation strategy and ensure engagement of our global dispersed workforce
  • Design and develop interactive performance-based training approaches in multiple modalities including synchronous remote learning methodologies, blended classroom learning, interactive e-learning modules, tool/process learning labs, etc.
  • Review best practices and current approaches from other BAE sectors to leverage existing training and skills analysis


Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelors degree in training, development, engineering or related technical field and a minimum of ten years directly applicable experience
  • Minimum of five years experience with learning theory, instructional technologies, and/or developing and facilitating live training
  • Ability to collaborate with other team members to identify best solutions and identify new ideas for innovative training delivery
  • Project management skills-demonstrated experience delivering timely and organized approach to achieving project objectives
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
  • Willingness to travel to BAE Systems' office sites


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) highly preferred
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Experience working on federal, DoD, or inteligence programs as a contractor
  • Experience as a supervisor on government contracts
  • Experience in utilizing learning management tools to create e-learning to include Captivate, Articulate, etc.
  • Active security clearance


Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $132000 - $224400
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
