What's the Short Version?

The Manager, Technical Project Management manages a team of Technical Project and Program Managers supporting the IT Infrastructure, Operations and Security Project Portfolio. They establish, plan, and administer the overall policies and goals for their project portfolio. They partner with Technology and Business partners in developing and executing an portfolio roadmap that will support the company's strategy in the short and long term. They oversee project teams, and drive resources, budgets, and schedules for their portfolio.


What Will You Be Doing?

  • Oversee a portfolio made up of projects using different types of planning and execution methodologies – specifically traditional Waterfall and hybrid approaches.
  • Manage, direct and coordinate the activities of team of Project Managers, Program Managers and Systems Analysts that support IT Infrastructure, Operations and Security Projects.
  • Manage and train Program Managers, Project Managers and Systems Analysts in all aspects of the project lifecycle from initiation to closing.
  • Maintain the project portfolio for their vertical; update portfolio dashboard and report portfolio status to Steering Committee.
  • Work with IT Leadership, Infrastructure/Operations/Security Managers, Business Partners to ensure portfolio of work is healthy (project status, resource management, etc).
  • Drive and maintain a roadmap for the Infrastructure/Operations/Security Portfolio by partnering with Technology and Business Partners to ensure an aligned, holistic view of program level priorities exist.
  • Drive Quarterly Planning within portfolio and focus on the roadmap (1-2 years) with Strategic Project Planning and Portfolio Planning teams.
  • Manage work within project pillars of: strategy, intake, discovery, execution and realization.
  • Work with domain architects to build program scope and ensure it is reflected on the roadmap.
  • Manage program level risks and dependencies in-regards-to delivery of roadmap.
  • Help facilitate key decision process with Project Managers and Team Leads.
  • Escalation point for Project Managers and Business or Technical Sponsors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all policies and standards.


What Are We Looking For?

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 7-9 years of experience in a technical program or project management role
  • 4-6 years in a lead capacity and oversight of large budgets, vendor management, and meeting deadlines
  • 1-3 years of management or supervisory experience is preferred
  • Competency across a range of project management tools (e.g. MS Project, VSTS, Jira, CA PPM, Visio)
  • Demonstrated delivery with Infrastructure Portfolio of Projects
  • Experience managing Infrastructure, NetOps, Security and Operations development and technical teams for multiple small and medium sized projects
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Infrastructure/Operations/Security methodologies
  • Familiarity with and understanding of key technologies and platforms (e.g. Telecom, SDWAN, Network Engineering, Linux, Cloud Infrastructure)
  • Ability to portray a positive attitude at all times; motivate and lead others
  • Ability to interact with many different skill sets and roles within the company
  • A curious mind, strong critical thinking skills, and a continuous drive to expand and learn for the future


What's Our Offer?

Salary Range: You`ll earn between $150,000 - $200,000 annually, depending on experience.


Bonus: You`ll be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus up to 15% of base salary.


Paid Time Off: You`ll accrue paid time off on a bi-weekly basis based on hours worked up to 152 hours per year to start. Employees also receive 8 paid holidays and 1 paid family day off.

What Should You Expect?

Hybrid: SanMar's Eastpointe office is located in Issaquah, WA in the Seattle metropolitan area. Employees are required to work in our offices Tuesday through Thursday each week and additional days may be added based on business needs. Our standard working hours are 8:00-5:00 PST. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work environment is moderately quiet. Ability to work on computer for multiple hours with frequent interruptions. Quarterly travel may be required.
