Identity Team Info

  • Own highly scalable, distributed services that host and serve user and friend metadata to power Snap’s Growth, Revenue and Engagement Verticals 

  • Build and Scale Snap’s dynamic configuration to personalize features on Snap 

  • Build a social graph using user and friend signals to improve retrieval and ranking relevance across Growth, Revenue and Engagement Verticals 

We're looking for a Software Engineering Manager to join Snap!

What you’ll do:

  • Lead a team of highly talented backend and client engineers to architect, and renovate Snap's large scale User, Friends and Personalization multi-cloud infrastructure

  • Manage and mentor a team of full-stack developers, in a fast-paced, quick-to-market environment

  • Set the strategy, build a roadmap, create measurable goals, and lead your team to deliver

  • Collaborate with Product, Operation, Cloud Providers, Data Science and Engineering teams, and executive stakeholders

  • Evaluate the technical tradeoffs of major decisions and be a strong technical mentor

  • Hire, grow and retain high-performing team members

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Hands-on knowledge of cloud infrastructure and operational excellence patterns and practices

  • Background with building high availability and mission critical distributed systems

  • Experience with leading an engineering team

  • Ability leading and executing large, complex technical initiatives

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in a technical field such as Computer Science or equivalent experience

  • 8+ years of experience working in software engineering

  • 3+ years of experience managing a team

  • 3+ experience with distributed systems and web development

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Cloud Storage services such as DynamoDB, Spanner, BigTable, and FireStore

  • Experience promoting operational excellence, leading incident management, and post mortems

  • Experience with building and maintaining mission-critical and highly-available global distributed systems

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

Zone A (CA, WA, NYC):

The base salary range for this position is $222,000-$333,000 annually.


 

Zone B:

The base salary range for this position is $211,000-$316,000 annually.

Zone C:

The base salary range for this position is $189,000-$283,000 annually.

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
