The Shopper Insights Manager plays a critical role in Category and Customer Insights Center of Excellence team, building insights & analytics capabilities to fuel our long-term growth ambitions across Category Management, Commercial & Digital Analytics. We work with BUs to integrate a shopper mindset into all Category growth ambitions. The Shopper Insights team also provides thought-leadership, shares best practices, and enhances shopper reporting.
Reporting to the Director of Shopper Insights, the Shopper Insights Manager is responsible for driving growth and business results. The candidate will be instrumental in activating the Shopper Insight vision of "Becoming a leading, world-class shopper community that proactively drives transformational thought leadership, retailer partnerships and exceptional excellence, from a holistic human perspective that creates shared value and business impact for Mondelez"
The role will focus on change management, embedding shopper understanding into the organization, and providing actionable shopper insights that support our growth strategies. They will help drive the Shopper Insights learning plan in the organization, building solid shopper capabilities and understanding, making sure that Shopper Insights is a part of the E2E decision-making process for strategic and operational recommendations.
As the Shopper Insights expert, they will develop and drive best practice approaches across BUs, lift and apply learnings across channels, build capability and understanding across BUs collaborating with Category Management, Sales, Category Planning and Activation, and Marketing/Category teams.
They will also ensure BUs leverage shopping and retail environment understanding and incorporate it into category, retail, and customer strategies.
Key responsibilities:

  • A desire to drive your future and accelerate your career with experience and knowledge in Shopper Insights and Shopper Led Growth Strategies
  • Create shopper tracking & activation frameworks aligned to Global Snacking growth drivers and key shopper cohorts, interact heavily with Insights & Analytics and Category Management teams, and influence them to customize by channel
  • Expert as leveraging Consumer Panel data to uncover key shopper trends and foresight and ability to synthesize multi-source data into clear, meaningful insights and activation
  • Design and execute prioritized consumer research initiatives across the entire Omni ecosystem, translating them into category and shopper growth drivers across Commercial teams and with our retail partners
  • Co-create consumer selling stories with Category Management teams integrating Channel or Customer specific shopper platforms and recommendations
  • Provide strong guidance to stakeholders on the principles and uses of growth drivers to unearth actionable, growth-oriented insights at a retail level
  • Continuously optimize business through data, tracking, learning - Test & Learn/Agile Mindset
  • Drive action-oriented insights on innovation, communication and brand growth imperatives to shopper, customer and net revenue planning teams
  • Act as a subject matter expert on POS and panel data insights, fostering a culture of data and shopper-driven decision-making and by leading best practices and training to cross-functional teams


What extra ingredients you will bring:

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree - Marketing, Social Science or Business Administration is preferred. Ideally candidate will have Masters in Marketing Research or related behavioral science discipline
  • Significant working experience in FMCG with either a manufacturer, retailer or agency, working within large matrix environments.
  • Strong experience with shopper insights being heavily leveraged in a Sales role, ideally cross-omni channels
  • Expertise within syndicated data platforms (Nielsen, Circana, Numerator, etc.) across POS and Shopper Panels
  • Experience in using retailer / customer data, shopper insights and analytics to develop compelling retail customer plans and category/shopper growth stories, ideally in the FMCG/CPG industry
  • Excellent communication skills and able to drive effective discussions in highly matrixed organizations - Experience managing and influencing senior stakeholders, key customers and cross functional teams/stakeholders including sales, consumer insights and external agencies.
  • Experience in building compelling insight from multi data sources to drive business decisions. Able to develop learning and best practices principles.
  • Familiar with common shopper insights methodologies, including ethnographies, shopalongs, surveys, etc. Preferred candidates will have experience designing, commissioning, and executing research studies.
  • Digital Commerce insights and analytics experience in driving omni JBP's and growth strategies.
  • Strong conceptual and analytic skills - enjoys problem solving and good at dealing w/ ambiguity
  • Strong knowledge and usage of market/customer/shopper segmentation models
  • Highly proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint


The base salary range for this position is $95,100 to $130,800; the exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
