Summary
BigCommerce is disrupting the e-commerce industry as the SaaS leader for fast-growing, mid-market businesses. We enable our customers to build intuitive and engaging stores to support every stage of their growth.
As the Manager, Business Operations you will be responsible for designing and implementing processes that enable efficiency and effectiveness of GTM functions across multiple business teams. In close collaboration with departmental operations leaders, you will be tasked with critically examining existing business processes and interface points between teams. Where mature processes do not exist, have not been implemented, or have proven unsuccessful, your responsibility is to design, test, implement and drive adoption of stable processes that will scale with our growth. A successful candidate will combine years of operational experience and business acumen with a determination to drive meaningful organizational change.
What You'll Do

  • Assess, map, and analyze all sales related business processes to identify risks, optimize outcomes, and implement process improvements to drive results
  • Evaluate and prioritize initiatives by assessing their impact on customers, prospects, and overall business performance
  • Develop and implement robust control mechanisms to detect, prevent, and mitigate risks effectively
  • Foster transparency and alignment by creating visibility across Sales, Marketing, Success, Partner, and Finance functions on processes and performance metrics impacting their teams
  • Champion continuous improvement efforts to enhance operational efficiency and ensure compliance with established processes
  • Design and implement scalable processes to support and accelerate revenue growth initiatives
  • Oversee and optimize lead handoff processes across Sales, Marketing, and Partner functions, ensuring consistency, quality, and accountability
  • Document business requirements and standard operational procedures and maintain an updated library of all documentation

Who You Are:

  • 7+ years operations experience, preferably at a SaaS, eCommerce or other subscription based company supporting GTM functions
  • 3+ years management experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, MBA preferred
  • Demonstrated success with end-to-end process design, rollout, and project management
  • Technically-savvy, experience with spreadsheet software and interpreting business intelligence reports
  • Familiarity with Salesforce.com, Marketo, and other business applications a plus
  • Proven record using operations expertise to drive productivity, growth and profitability in a dynamic organization
  • Skilled in process improvement, optimization, and problem-solving to drive efficiency
  • Systems-thinker, focused on creating systematic, lasting solutions rather than relying on intent alone
  • Ensures every detail aligns with broader objectives for precision and impact
  • Change agent that drives measurable, positive change by turning ideas into action
  • Measures success through data and quantifiable results
  • Brings expertise in Sales and Marketing, especially within B2B environments

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
