The US Insights & Analytics (I&A) Business Analytics team is redefining how we leverage data to create a paradigm shift in the way we do business. You'll play a pivotal role in achieving this vision, working at the intersection of data science and business strategy to solve real-world challenges, from driving omni-channel growth to optimizing digital and brick-and-mortar execution. This is a highly visible role, collaborating with other I&A members as well as cross functional teams to influence decision-making and shape our future strategy.

Job Summary
As Manager, Data Science, you will manage the development of analytics products and deliver insights that directly impact business outcomes. You will focus on creating scalable, innovative solutions using A/B testing, clustering, and advanced machine learning techniques. Working closely with marketing and commercial teams, you'll ensure analytics tools address critical business challenges. You will also foster data-driven decision-making across the organization.
This role requires a blend of deep technical expertise and the ability to communicate complex analytics effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Key Responsibilities

  • Data Science and Technical:
    • Apply your expertise in analysis of data with high volumes, velocities, and variety, including structured data (e.g., sales transactions), unstructured data (e.g., social media text), and sensor data. In addition, you will develop forward-looking, predictive, real-time, model-based insights to create value and drive effective decision making
    • Develop predictive products leveraging machine learning methods
    • Have deep knowledge of statistical methodologies including but not limited to regression, classification, decision trees, random forests, and gradient boosting models.
    • Explore deep learning methods (preferred) to expand the scope of predictive capabilities.
    • Design and analyze A/B testing experiments to optimize business strategies.
    • Apply clustering techniques to segment customers, shoppers, and markets effectively.
    • Leverage syndicated data (e.g., NielsenIQ, IRI/Circana, 84.51, Spins) to address business challenges.
    • Experiment with AI/ML solutions to generate insights and address complex business challenges.
    • Build and implement best-in-class digital and brick-and-mortar analytics capabilities to deliver holistic omni-channel insights.
  • Innovation & Scalability:
    • Create scalable, innovative processes to meet the needs of a dynamic business.
    • Leverage cloud platforms (Azure, Google Cloud) and big data ecosystems (e.g., Spark, Snowflake, Databricks) to manage and analyze large, complex datasets.
    • Develop interactive dashboards using Power BI to enhance insights delivery.
  • Collaboration & Influence:
    • Partner with commercial teams to translate business needs into data-driven solutions.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to influence decision-making.
    • Deliver impactful presentations that clearly communicate analytics insights and recommendations to diverse audiences


What extra ingredients you will bring:

  • Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in relevant areas including Data Science, Data Analytics, Big Data, Cloud Computing, Machine Learning (time can include relevant degree studies)
  • Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and advanced Excel techniques.
  • Deep understanding of statistical techniques, including:
    • Regression and Classification: linear regression, logistic regression, support vector machines.
    • Tree-based Methods: decision trees, random forests, gradient boosting models.
    • Neural Networks and Deep Learning: neural networks, deep learning methods.
    • Clustering and Other Techniques: clustering (e.g., k-means), and other unsupervised learning methods.
  • High understanding of Databricks platform and Spark performance tuning
  • Knowledge of Tableau or PowerBI for dashboard creation.
  • Proven record of designing scalable Data Science solutions with expert understanding of architectural choices that need to be made
  • Understanding of the GenAI landscape, concepts, and techniques (e.g., Prompt Engineering, LLMs, SLMs, Transformers, RAG, Vector Databases, Fine-Tuning, Transfer Learning, Model Distillation, and Explainable AI)
  • Experience with big data tools and cloud platforms (Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Communication Skills:
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to translate complex technical analyses into actionable business insights.
    • Strong presentation skills to engage cross-functional stakeholders.


The base salary range for this position is $117,400 to $161,425; the exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.

Many of these benefits are subsidized or fully paid for by the company.
