Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Design, develop, and test firmware of mission critical firmware. 

  • Prepare and maintain specification, design, and test documentation. 

  • Understand hardware, firmware, and software interactions and collaborate with other engineers across disciplines. 

  • Follow and apply SEL Values and Principles of Operations. 

 

This job may be for you if… 

  • B.S./M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field 

  • Typically, 2+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: 

  • Embedded systems firmware development including: 

  • Real-time firmware design 

  • C/C++ and assembly languages 

  • Low level RTOS or Embedded Linux Development experience 

  • IoT and communication protocol experience including: 

  • Understanding of the OSI model 

  • Experience with wireless communication and IoT protocols (MQTT, Bluetooth, COAP, LwM2M, etc) 

  • Familiarity with industry standards and protocols (e.g., 3GPP, GSMA NA) 

  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills 

  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities 

  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment 

  • Background check results satisfactory to SEL 

  • Negative drug test result(s).

The salary range for a Wireless Firmware Engineer is $88,600-$108,200. We are open to reviewing additional candidates with differing experienceOur salary ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
