The Department: Strategy & Corporate Development

The Strategy & Corporate Development team at Gemini is a dynamic and integral part of our organization, working closely with company leadership to drive critical decision-making and operational excellence. As generalists, we tackle the firm's most complex and ambiguous problems, balancing strategic thinking with practical implementation. Our scope encompasses business prioritization, growth strategy, market entry/exit, organizational alignment, and investor relations. We conduct thorough internal and external analyses to inform strategic planning and execute cross-functional initiatives from conception to completion. The team also focuses on improving company-wide efficiency by developing streamlined processes and managing performance through metrics and goal-setting. Additionally, we oversee mergers and acquisitions, early-stage investments via the Gemini Frontier Fund, and other key efforts that drive long-term competitive advantage. By partnering with senior leadership on high-impact projects and data analyses, we ensure Gemini not only charts a visionary course but also has the operational framework to execute it effectively, solidifying our position as an innovative leader in the digital asset space.

The Role: Lead, Project Manager

Gemini is seeking a Lead, Project Manager to drive execution and coordination for high-impact, cross-functional initiatives across the company. This role will serve as the taskmaster and operational glue for projects that don’t fit neatly within a single team—ensuring alignment, clear priorities, and seamless execution across legal, compliance, finance, product, engineering, and other departments.

The primary focus will be leading execution for strategic, cross-functional initiatives that require collaboration across multiple business functions. These may include new market or entity expansions, operational infrastructure projects, and other key company-wide priorities. Secondarily, this person will support other key strategic initiatives within the Strategy & Corporate Development team, such as managing quarterly OKRs and business reporting, coordinating corporate development and investor relations workflows, and helping operationalize high-priority strategic mandates.

This is a high-visibility, high-impact role for someone who thrives on driving execution, creating structure out of ambiguity, and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and drive execution for large-scale, cross-functional initiatives, ensuring clear timelines, decision points, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Serve as the cross-functional taskmaster, coordinating across Product, Engineering, Legal, Compliance, Finance, Operations, Marketing, and various other functions to keep projects structured, aligned, and moving forward.
  • Ensure clarity and prioritization by turning messy, ambiguous projects into clear, actionable plans with defined outcomes.
  • Facilitate decision-making and alignment, ensuring teams across the company are on the same page about key initiatives.
  • Create and maintain project plans, dashboards, and structured updates, ensuring leadership and stakeholders stay informed.
  • Proactively manage risks, blockers, and dependencies to keep execution on track.
  • Support broader Strategy & Corporate Development initiatives, including OKR process coordination, corporate development workflows, and operationalizing key strategic priorities.
  • Effectively navigate a remote-first, distributed work environment, using async collaboration tools (Slack, Google Docs, project tracking tools, Jira boards, etc.) to drive execution and ensure alignment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of project management, program management, or operational execution experience.
  • 7+ years of overall work experience.
  • Track record of driving execution in cross-functional, high-growth, complex environments.
  • Ability to turn ambiguity into structure, breaking down messy, undefined projects into clear plans with ownership and accountability.
  • Proven ability to keep senior stakeholders aligned and projects moving forward transparently and without friction.
  • Highly autonomous, proactive, and execution-focused; able to run with a broad mandate.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with a bias for action and problem-solving.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and generate buy-in for initiatives.
  • Experience in a remote-first environment, with strong proficiency in async tools (Slack, Google Docs, Notion, Jira, etc.) and the ability to adapt communication style based on stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in AI tools like ChatGPT, prompt engineering, and leveraging AI for productivity, automation, and decision support. Must be resourceful and stay up to date with the latest AI tools to enhance execution capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in crypto, finance, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Experience with OKR processes and strategic planning workflows.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven project management tools and automation platforms.
  • Technical fluency in data tools (Looker, SQL, Dune Analytics) is a plus but not required.

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
