Job Title:Lead Product Designer - Remote

Role Overview:

To propel our mission, McAfee is hiring a Lead Product Designer to help envision McAfee’s next generation of product experiences. We are looking for a full-stack product designer who has a hybrid skillset that includes UX Design, Interaction Design, UI Design and Visual Design and Prototyping. The ideal candidate will have proven experience envisioning and delivering useful, usable and lovable consumer experiences, across various devices and. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will play a pivotal role in creating outstanding user experiences that drive business and consumer outcomes across our products.  
This position is a Remote position located in the United States, we are only considering candidates in the United States and are not offering relocation.

About the role:

  • Customer obsession: Create useful, usable, lovable experiences for our customers (consumers, not enterprise customers)

  • UX Design: Guide the UX design process for cross-platform and cross-device applications, from ideation to execution. Advocate for user-centered design principles, accessibility, and best practices within the design team and across the organization  

  • User Research: Partner with our Research team using various methods to gain insights into user behaviors, preferences, and pain points. Use these findings to inform design decisions and continuously improve the user experience.  

  • Information Architecture: Develop and refine information architecture and user flows to ensure seamless navigation and efficient interactions.  

  • Interaction Design: Design intuitive and delightful interactions and micro-interactions that provide users with feedback and guide them through their experience.  

  • Wireframing and Prototyping: Create hi-fidelity wireframes, interactive prototypes, and design specifications to effectively communicate design concepts and interactions to stakeholders.  

  • Visual Design: Ensure that visual elements across the products and platforms enhance the overall experience while aligning with the style guidelines. Make the product beautiful and lovable. 

  • Prototyping: Create high fidelity Figma prototypes that articulate the end-to-end user experience for products, services and features. Compare options and rapidly iterate.

  • Design Guidelines: Establish and maintain design guidelines, ensuring consistency and a unified experience across different platforms and devices  

  • Accessibility: Ensure our products adhere to accessibility standards, allowing users of all abilities to interact with our applications effectively across their devices.  

  • Contextual Analysis: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor experiences to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.  

  • Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and technical constraints while advocating for the best user experience.  

  • Growth Mindset: Role model growth mindset for others and contribute to putting structures in place to foster growth mindset across the team.  

  • Leadership: Demonstrate leadership through your work and communication 

About You:

  • 10+ years in cross-platform consumer product design, with a portfolio showcasing successful projects that focus on user-centered design solutions and demonstrate high-caliber designs end to end.  

  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma (including prototyping).  

  • Strong visual skills – portfolio should demonstrate both interaction and visual design skills.

  • Strong understanding of user research methodologies, usability testing, and information architecture.  

  • Knowledge of design guidelines, best practices, and platform-specific design considerations for native mobile, desktop and web.  

  • Experience working in Agile development environments, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and managing multiple projects simultaneously.  

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and rationale to stakeholders at all levels.  

  • Passionate about keeping up with the latest design trends, technologies, and industry advancements.  

  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and their implementation across platforms and devices.  

  • Passionate about solving human problems with empathy, creativity, and pragmatism.  

  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and strategically adept.  

  • Elicits and considers multiple perspectives, offers critique with clarity and kindness, and identifies win-win solutions.  

  • Highly collaborative and recognizes the value of bringing people along.  

  • Eager to learn new concepts; willing to admit you don’t know certain things, will ask for help, roll up your sleeves, and learn.  

  • Has a high EQ, receives feedback with gratitude, and strives for continued growth.

  • We prefer 3+ years’ experience designing at a start-up

  • We prefer 5+ years’ experience in mobile web and native apps (Android, iOS). 

  • We prefer Experience showcasing your end-to-end design process across multiple projects, that include interaction and visual design artifacts and high-fidelity prototypes
