We’re looking for a Lead Accountant to steer our core accounting operations, ensure financial integrity, and help scale our accounting processes as we grow. In this pivotal role, you'll collaborate across teams and lead month-end closes, financial reporting, and compliance initiatives—all while helping us innovate in the world of advanced analytics.
🔍 What You’ll Do
Lead Day-to-Day Accounting Operations
- Review and oversee general ledger activity to ensure accuracy and proper classification
- Approve journal entries and reconciliations prepared by internal and outsourced teams
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal policies
Own the Close Process
- Drive month-end and year-end close activities from start to finish
- Analyze and review financial statements and account balances
- Prepare internal financial reports and insights for leadership
Deliver Financial Reporting & Insights
- Support timely and accurate delivery of financial statements
- Conduct variance analysis and highlight key financial trends
- Prepare audit schedules and partner with external auditors
Champion Process Improvements
- Identify and implement enhancements to accounting workflows
- Strengthen internal controls and accounting policy documentation
- Partner with operations and systems teams to scale and automate processes
Be a Cross-Functional Finance Leader
- Collaborate with Finance, Revenue Ops, HR, and other teams to ensure data integrity
- Serve as a trusted advisor on accounting implications of business initiatives
- Liaise with outsourced accounting partners to tackle complex issues
Ensure Regulatory Compliance
- Lead bank loan reporting and ensure accurate monthly package submissions
- Coordinate with tax advisors on compliance across sales, payroll, international, franchise, and corporate taxes
Education & Certification
- Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA preferred or actively pursuing
Experience & Expertise
- 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in SaaS or tech
- Strong foundation in U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
- Familiarity with ASC 606 and SaaS revenue models is a big plus
Tech-Savviness
- Proficient in Excel and accounting systems like Intacct, NetSuite, Expensify, Salesforce Billing
Analytical Edge
- Sharp eye for detail with the ability to spot discrepancies and risks
- Confident interpreting complex financial data and telling the story behind the numbers
People Skills
- Clear communicator with the ability to explain finance to non-financial teams
- Collaborative mindset and a natural team player
Organization & Agility
- Excellent time management with the ability to juggle multiple priorities
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
