What You Will Achieve

• Coordinates all maintenance activities with GO and external vendors
• Serves as the department representative on the Laboratory Equipment and Oversight Committee
• Interfaces with Thermo-Fisher for maintenance of stock room inventory
• Orders and maintains inventory of all supplies and reagents not covered by Thermo-Fisher stock room
• Acts as department's lead Safety Representative
• Makes stock solutions needed by scientific staff
• Makes customized agar plates as regular basis to support scientific experiments
• Assembles process aids, such as transfers, bottles and syringes
• Assure readiness of bioreactors for experiments pre-sterilization
• Execute clean-in-place procedures for steam-in-place equipment
• Collect and secure biohazard waste from the labs and pilot areas
• Calibrate and maintain scientific instruments
• Take direction from management on required support activities and schedule own work
• Attend internal and external meetings that relate to maintenance activities
• Generate necessary forms, labels, and materials for formulation preparations and ensure instruments are calibrated and functioning properly.

Qualifications
Must Have

• High School Diploma or GED with 2 to 4 years of experience
• Competent knowledge and understanding of fundamental principles of one or more professional, technical, or specialized body of knowledge
• Proficiency with personal computers including familiarity with Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook functions
• Good communication and reading skills - work well from written and verbal instruction
• Course work in chemistry is highly desirable to aid understanding of chemical formulae in formulation instructions
• Course work in biology or biotechnology is highly desirable for supporting work with bioreactors
• Strong record-keeping and data management skills

Nice to Have

• Associate degree with 2-5 years' experience

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

• Perform basic mathematic calculation, Excel formulation work, and digital electronic laboratory documentation required.
• Some heavy lifting (approximately 50 pounds or less) of supplies and equipment is required.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

• work early morning or late evening as required.

Work Location Assignment: On Premise
The salary for this position ranges from $23.12 to $38.54 per hour. In addition, this position offers eligibility for overtime, weekend, holiday and other pay premiums depending on the work schedule and the Company's policies.
