Ready to be pushed beyond what you think you’re capable of?

At Coinbase, our mission is to increase economic freedom in the world. It’s a massive, ambitious opportunity that demands the best of us, every day, as we build the emerging onchain platform — and with it, the future global financial system.

To achieve our mission, we’re seeking a very specific candidate. We want someone who is passionate about our mission and who believes in the power of crypto and blockchain technology to update the financial system. We want someone who is eager to leave their mark on the world, who relishes the pressure and privilege of working with high caliber colleagues, and who actively seeks feedback to keep leveling up. We want someone who will run towards, not away from, solving the company’s hardest problems.

Our work culture is intense and isn’t for everyone. But if you want to build the future alongside others who excel in their disciplines and expect the same from you, there’s no better place to be.

The IT Atlassian team owns and manages Jira, Jira Service Management and Confluence at Coinbase. As the IT Product Manager for the Corporate Planning Processes you would be responsible to define and execute on a roadmap in partnership with our Corporate Programs and Security teams. This role will partner closely with the IT Atlassian engineering team and strategic cross-functional stakeholders to deliver a user-focused experience across these critical processes.

What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):

  • Requirement Gathering: Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to gather product requirements, ensuring a clear understanding of user needs and technical constraints. Translate these into actionable tasks for the development team.
  • Agile Project Management: Utilize agile methodologies to manage the product development lifecycle efficiently. Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to ensure timely delivery and resolve roadblocks as needed.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Atlassian Engineering, Program Management and Security teams to ensure smooth coordination and alignment throughout the product lifecycle. Provide guidance to successfully translate business requirements into technical requirements and think about how these changes might impact other use cases.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal clients, ensuring regular communication, managing expectations, and addressing any concerns. Provide timely updates on development progress.

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):

  • 5+ years of strong experience in a dynamic product management role managing a data center version of the Atlassian platform.
  • High effectiveness in managing cross-functional teams, collaborating with stakeholders from program management, engineering, security, and other departments.
  • Focus on areas with the highest impact and a track record of completing deliverables on or ahead of schedule.
  • Strong sense of accountability and a drive for efficiency, constantly seeking better ways to improve processes and deliver high-quality user experience.
  • Strong team player mindset, collaborating effectively with colleagues and fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • 3+ years of experience with scripting languages like Groovy and SIL

Nice to haves:

  • Proven success as a product manager in a user-centric environment
  • Demonstrable knowledge of collaboration platforms, automation platforms, and user access control systems

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
