Candidates located in or willing to relocate to the Charlotte or Chicago areas are preferred. However, remote applicants with strong, relevant experience residing in the following states will also be considered.

Performs critical investment operations functions for all investment portfolios for Advocate Health, Inc. and related entities including Advocate Health Care, Aurora Health Care and Atrium Health and their retirement plans. Oversees the timely and accurate reporting of investment information to both internal and external stakeholders. Acts as a liaison with treasury and accounting departments, maintaining strong working relationships with custodians and auditors. Coordinates investment operations projects and actively participates in the audit process. 

Major Responsibilities: 

Performance Reporting: Prepares regular investment reports for investment and management committees. 

Portfolio Reconciliation & Valuations: Performs reconciliations to ensure consistency between Advocate’s records and external custodians. Ensures valuations, transactions (including capital calls and distributions) are correctly recorded in Advocate’s internal investment system, Dynamo. 

Transaction Execution: Works with external managers and counterparties to complete investment documentation, including subscription agreements, account opening forms, and KYC/AML documentation. Processes trades and wires through the custodian’s systems and books trades in Dynamo. 

Investment Analytics: Analyzes investment data and provides timely and accurate investment information to investment staff, accounting staff, internal and external auditors, rating agencies, and governing committees. 

Cash Management: Oversees the preparation of weekly cash forecasts, trade plans, and asset allocation reporting. Processes capital calls and ensures accurate tracking of private fund commitments. 

Audit Support: Participates in the audit process for both corporate and retirement plan audits. Prepares required audit schedules and provides ad hoc data analysis requested by internal and external auditors. Works closely with auditors to answer questions and provide insight and context around investment data. 

Process Improvement and Controls: Identifies, analyzes, and resolves operational challenges from start to finish. Partners with team members to design processes that implement improvements, enhancing efficiency and reducing risks. 

Education/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field

  • 2- 5 years of experience in investment operations

 

Education/Experience Preferred:

  • Experience with private equity, venture capital, credit, real asset and/or hedge funds, specifically as it relates to valuations, transactions (including capital calls and distributions) and accounting

  • Experience with an institutional allocator (e.g., endowment, foundation, pension, family office, OCIO, fund of funds) or with a consultant or fund administrator/custodian

Pay Range

$32.45 - $60.45
