Inside HRT invites promising undergraduate students pursuing a degree in computer science, mathematics, or another STEM-related field to HRT’s NYC headquarters to learn about HRT and the quantitative finance industry. Participants will have a unique opportunity to learn about HRT’s technical roles, explore real-world challenges through hands-on problem-solving, and engage directly with HRTers for an immersive and interactive learning experience.

While people of all identities are welcome to apply, this program is intended to create a space for Black and LatinX students to explore the quantitative finance industry.

Program Details

  • Dates: May 20–22, 2025
  • Location: HRT Headquarters, New York City, NY
  • Travel and Accommodations: Travel and hotel will be provided. Participants should plan to arrive on May 19th and depart on May 23rd.

The application for this program includes a resume submission and two short response questions (less than 200 words each). The interview process will include an online assessment and one 60 minute technical interview.

Requirements

  • Full-time undergraduate student graduating between December 2026 and August 2027
  • Pursuing a degree in a quantitative discipline (i.e. math, computer science, or another STEM-related field)
  • A strong interest in technology and a passion for learning and solving problems
  • Attending this summit does not require prior knowledge of finance, only an interest in learning! 
  • Basic programming skills and familiarity with Python or C++ are required
