Job Description:

Position Summary:
The HR Operations Specialist plays a critical role in supporting key HR processes related to employee transitions, including layoff administration, severance documentation, relocation support, and offboarding. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle sensitive information with the highest level of discretion and professionalism. Strong collaboration skills and ability to discuss technical topics in a simple manner to all levels of management is critical. 

Key Responsibilities:

Workforce Management

  • Maintain and manage layoff/impact lists to ensure accuracy and compliance with company and regulatory standards.

  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners and department leaders to gather and verify employee data accuracy for transition processes.

  • Act as a liaison for internal teams to ensure coordinated and timely updates to layoff-related documents/letters.

Severance Documentation

  • Prepare, review, and distribute severance letters in line with company policies and legal requirements.

  • Coordinate with Legal and HR partners to ensure severance packages are accurate and meet all guidelines.

  • Assist with questions related to severance documentation and processes, maintaining a supportive and responsive approach.

Relocation Support

  • Administer employee relocation requests, ensuring all approvals and documentation align with Broadcom relocation policies.

  • Partner with employees and HRBPs to coordinate logistics and assist with any relocation-related questions.

  • Maintain accurate records of all relocation cases and provide regular updates to relevant stakeholders.

Operations & Compliance Support

  • Provide support with various compliance related activities as needed, for example: background screening requests, compiling evidence for audit requests.

  • Assist with ensuring compliance with notice and posting requirements, collaborating with vendors and employment legal as appropriate.

  • Collaborate with the operations team on miscellaneous projects and initiatives for process improvement, M&A, or other business needs as they arise.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in HR operations, employee lifecycle management, or a similar HR role.

  • Experience working with sensitive employee data and processes, including layoffs, severance, and relocations.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors) and strong working knowledge of Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to analyze and manage large sets of data with a high degree of accuracy.

  • Familiarity with legal and compliance standards related to employment transitions, severance, and relocations is preferred.

  • Organization and Attention to Detail: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities with precision and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.

  • Confidentiality: Proven ability to handle sensitive employee data and processes with professionalism and discretion.

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey technical information clearly to diverse audiences, including senior management.

  • Collaboration: Adept at working cross-functionally and building relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including HR, Legal, and vendor partners.

  • Problem-Solving: Resourceful and proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues related to HR processes and employee transitions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in workforce planning, severance package preparation, and relocation management.

  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations related to layoffs, severance, and relocations in a global environment.

Additional Job Description:

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is $71,000 - $125,000.

This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
