Job Summary:

The Group Manager will be responsible for business strategy and execution for several Volaris businesses within the Trey Drake Portfolio. Periodically, this role will be expected to act as a player-coach, requiring a hands-on leader for a specific single business (player) while overseeing the other business leaders (coach) in the group. In addition, the Group Manager may be required to take on an Integration Manager role to oversee business integration activities for our newly acquired businesses. This role may also be called on to help source, nurture, qualify, negotiate, do due diligence, or close smaller tuck-in acquisitions or stand-alone businesses within the portfolio’s scope.

Strategy:

  • Hire, professionally develop, and retain high-quality, high-intensity, high-integrity business leaders and functional leaders that are market-current, technical, commercial, and project management strong and can deliver sustainably improving (growth and profitability) results.
  • Working with the management team and internal and external stakeholders, develop a long-range company vision and mission for each business and a systematic business and product evolution roadmap to achieve it.
  • Work closely with Sales leadership to ensure achieve both short term and long term success developing pipeline and meeting sales objectives.
  • Develop clear business plans, priorities, and forecasts, and ensure short-range forecasts (net revenue and EBITA) are delivered as expected.
  • Evolve business processes and systems along with corresponding policies to ensure scalability, the availability of timely data to make the best business decisions, and to comply with regulations and corporate governance requirements.

Operations:

  • Develop and oversee win-win relationships with key customers and partners to maximize long-term commercial success for all parties and to find creative solutions to challenges/problems as they occur.
  • Ensure alignment of each business and functional department’s KPI’s with Volaris targets, and professionally develop each functional leader to embrace and perfect Volaris’ best practices in the market.
  • Ensure a strong talent management process is adopted to attract and retain talent, ensure strong employee engagement, implement succession plans to manage risks, embrace scalability, and harvest up-and-coming talent.
  • Tracking and reporting: Conduct weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings to promote teamwork, align on priorities, and strive for strong ongoing performance improvement and forecasting accuracy.
  • Provide quarterly analysis of ongoing business performance.

Required skills and qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a CEO, Managing Director, General Manager, or as an Operator overseeing multiple business units, with demonstrable success improving growth and profitability
  • Broad business acumen related to the growth and operations of software entities
  • Financial acumen and analytical skills in combination with strategic, action-oriented mindset
  • Keen assessor of talent, especially for senior management roles with an eye toward future growth and organizational design
  • Outstanding ability to work through/develop others to achieve key objectives and to inspire confidence
  • Well versed in all Talent Management and Development process and procedures 
  • Ability to travel as required based on business needs
  • Nimble strategic thinker who is comfortable taking calculated business risks and remains resilient through business challenges
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to listen effectively and to communicate complex concepts concisely to drive organizational alignment and clarity
