Global Director, Financial Applications
We are seeking a strategic and highly skilled Global Director of Financial Applications to oversee and manage our global financial application portfolio, including key platforms such as NetSuite, Concur, Coupa, and Avalara. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that these applications are well-maintained, stable, and aligned with the company's financial and operational goals.
About the Role
The role involves working closely with key stakeholders to drive the evolution of these applications, optimize their performance, and ensure seamless integration with other systems. This position requires leadership and expertise in managing enterprise-level financial solutions and a proactive approach to continuously improving their capabilities to support business growth.
In this role you will:

  • Lead the strategy and oversight of all global financial applications (NetSuite, Concur, Coupa, Avalara), ensuring alignment with the company's overall financial and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and key stakeholders across Finance, IT, Procurement, and other business functions to identify opportunities for improving financial processes and increasing operational efficiency.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive roadmap for the ongoing development, enhancement, and optimization of financial applications, focusing on scalability, performance, and security.
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of financial applications, ensuring their stability, reliability, and availability for global operations.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify system issues and implement improvements to enhance system functionality, streamline business processes, and ensure robust data governance.
  • Manage the upgrade process for financial applications, ensuring minimal disruptions to business operations while improving system capabilities.
  • Lead the integration of new functionalities, modules, and third-party solutions into the existing application ecosystem, including NetSuite ERP, Concur, Coupa, and Avalara.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for business leaders and key stakeholders regarding financial applications, ensuring their needs and requirements are addressed in a timely and effective manner.
  • Drive the adoption of financial applications by coordinating training, providing documentation, and ensuring end-users are proficient in leveraging the systems.
  • Collaborate with the finance team and other departments to improve processes such as financial reporting, procurement, expense management, and tax compliance using financial technology solutions.
  • Ensure that financial applications are compliant with relevant regulations, internal controls, and industry standards (e.g., SOX, GDPR).
  • Develop and enforce best practices for data security, risk management, and compliance, working closely with IT security and legal teams to mitigate risks associated with financial data management.
  • Conduct regular audits and performance assessments of financial applications to identify areas for improvement and ensure they meet regulatory and operational requirements.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team responsible for supporting and maintaining financial applications, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Set clear goals and performance expectations for team members, providing guidance and career development opportunities.
  • Drive team engagement and ensure that knowledge-sharing practices are in place to encourage cross-functional learning and innovation.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, ensuring the timely delivery of services and optimal value for the company.
  • Lead contract negotiations, renewals, and vendor performance evaluations to ensure best-in-class service delivery and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop and manage the budget for financial application initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.


The skills you'll bring include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial application management, with at least 5 years in a leadership or senior management role.
  • Proven expertise in managing and optimizing enterprise financial applications such as NetSuite, Concur, Coupa, and Avalara.
  • Strong experience with ERP systems, financial reporting, procurement, and tax compliance automation.
  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional projects and managing teams responsible for global system deployments and enhancements.
  • Deep understanding of financial application ecosystems and integration capabilities.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based enterprise solutions (e.g., NetSuite, Concur, Coupa, Avalara, etc.).
  • Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for financial reporting and data analysis.
  • Familiar with Agile project management methodologies, change management, and IT governance best practices.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a proven track record of developing high-performing teams and driving strategic initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior management, business stakeholders, and external vendors.
  • Ability to think strategically while maintaining a hands-on approach to day-to-day application management
