Ardent is seeking a Geospatial Architect to join our team.  

This is a Remote position.

Position Description:

Ardent is seeking an experienced GIS Architect to lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of advanced geospatial system infrastructures. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience architecting complex systems and a strong background in geospatial technologies, including the ESRI Enterprise platform. You will collaborate with IT leads to ensure system compliance with government policies and alignment with enterprise strategies.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Serve as the GIS technical lead, guiding the design and development of geospatial system architectures using industry best practices
  • Develop system hardware specifications, design strategies, technical documentation, and implementation plans
  • Support the planning, design, and deployment of enterprise GIS solutions, including data analysis, modeling, testing, and requirements development
  • Collaborate with Agency IT teams to ensure solutions align with organizational policies and goals
  • Ensure compliance with modern CI/CD (Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery / Continuous Deployment) processes
  • Provide expertise on the ESRI Enterprise platform and other geospatial technologies
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, delivering clear documentation and presentations

Requirements: 

  • Master’s Degree (or higher) in Geography, Engineering, Environmental Science, Computer Science, or a related field (OR) Bachelor’s degree with two additional years of relevant experience
  • 12+ years of experience designing complex architectures and applications, with at least 10 years in geospatial systems
  • Experience with IT architecting, including documentation, configuration management, and version control
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD processes
  • Proficiency with the ESRI Enterprise platform Excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred Requirements: 

  • Experience working in federal government environments, particularly with NASA policies
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills
