Full Stack Engineer
We are a venture-backed insurtech looking for entrepreneurial and highly motivated people to help strengthen our foundation and set the stage for fast and efficient scaling.
As a Full Stack Developer, you'll play a crucial role in building and maintaining both our frontend and backend systems, helping to shape the future of our platform.
You should be authorized to work in the US/Canada (we cannot sponsor at this time), have a Bachelor's Degree and be comfortable working within the North American time zones. Principals only, no agencies or recruiters, please.
Your Responsibilities

Ability to design and implement features across our entire technology stack, from core backend services to frontend applications

Build and maintain scalable RESTful APIs

Develop responsive and intuitive user interfaces using modern frontend frameworks
-
Write and maintain clean, efficient, and well-documented code
-
Drive improvements in engineering standards, tooling, and patterns across both frontend and backend systems
-
Ensure comprehensive test coverage across all layers of the application
-
Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack
-
Contribute to architectural decisions that will shape our platform's future
-
Push the product, processes, and platform forward through innovative solutions
Required Experience
-
4+ years of professional experience building full stack web applications/services
-
Strong proficiency in both frontend and backend technologies:
-
Frontend: TypeScript, Vue 3, HTML5, CSS (Tailwind, shadcn)

Backend: Kotlin / Java, or experience with Scala, Swift, C#, etc

Experience building and maintaining scalable RESTful APIs

Understanding of distributed systems architecture and implementation

Proven track record of implementing responsive, performant web applications

Strong foundation in software engineering best practices, including:

Automated testing

Code quality and review processes

System monitoring and alerting

Documentation

Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills across the full technology stack

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a bias toward action

Ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment
Nice to Have

Experience with AWS services (SQS, SNS, DynamoDB)

Single Page Application development

Knowledge of modern CI/CD practices

Understanding of AWS/GCP, Document storage engines, API/client generation

Experience with micro-services architecture
