Who We Are:

At Workhelix, our ambition is to lead the new category of Business Transformation Management (BTM), helping organizations adopt technologies like Generative AI. We offer two SaaS products: one for planning GenAI initiatives using workforce data, and another for monitoring ROI with advanced research methodologies. We have pioneered a task-scoring method to identify top GenAI opportunities, ensuring clear, data-driven deployment strategies. Our ROI monitoring suite applies cutting-edge economics to provide accurate, ongoing insights into the impact of GenAI implementations. Renowned AI and Economics thinkers including Andrew Ng, and cofounders Andy McAfee and Erik Brynjolfsson stand proudly behind our mission.

We maintain a culture established on four key principles: reliance on scientific evidence and debates rather than personal judgment and experience; embracing autonomy with alignment to prevent bureaucracy; encouraging speed, iteration, and rapid feedback over exhaustive planning; and fostering open, good faith discussions, allowing criticism to be delivered and received in an egalitarian environment.

This is a full-time, remote opportunity open to job seekers in the Greater San Francisco area.

Role:

This is a unique role that sits at the intersection of technical expertise, business strategy, and stakeholder engagement. You will be a strategic partner inside client organizations, responsible for:

  • Discovering latent analytical opportunities across business functions
  • Conducting deep diagnostic conversations to uncover hidden operational challenges
  • Translating complex business problems into precise analytical solutions
  • Building bridges between technical teams and business leadership

Think of this role as an internal "analytics scout" and transformation catalyst. You'll need to be equally comfortable explaining advanced statistical methods to a data scientist and articulating business value to a C-suite executive.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Problem Solving:

  • Engage directly with clients to understand their most pressing challenges and design custom technical solutions to address them.
  • Use your software engineering expertise and/or data science skillset to build and deploy solutions, integrating seamlessly into the client’s existing infrastructure.
  • Apply a problem-first mindset to break down complex problems into actionable tasks that deliver business outcomes.
  • Map existing business processes and identify high-potential areas for analytical intervention

Software/Analytics Development & Deployment:

  • Write clean, scalable code using Python, SQL, and other languages as needed to deliver data heavy solutions.
  • Support end-to-end implementation of analytical solutions, from data extraction to model deployment
  • Collaborate with client teams and internal stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition from development to production.

Client Collaboration:

  • Work on-site or closely with enterprise clients to identify pain points, iterate on solutions, and deliver high-impact results.
  • Communicate technical decisions clearly and effectively to non-technical stakeholders, breaking down complex problems into understandable concepts.
  • Act as a trusted technical partner, guiding clients toward scalable solutions while managing technical trade-offs.

Operational Excellence:

  • Design and implement systems and processes that improve operational efficiency and scalability.
  • Contribute to the development of standard playbooks for deployment and integration to streamline future engagements.

Cross-Functional Teamwork:

  • Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and business counterparts to deploy predictive models, descriptive statistics, and causal models. You should be able to build these models on your own!
  • Partner with engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of products and features into client systems.
  • Partner with Product to provide feedback on client pain points and solutions
  • Help refine and optimize internal tools, frameworks, and processes based on customer needs.

Requirements:

  • Ability to travel on occasion
  • 3+ years of software development experience, ideally in full-stack or data-centric roles and/or deep familiarity with building statistical and machine learning models.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and SQL at a minimum, preferably with more developed technical skills
  • Proven ability to engage with enterprise customers and navigate ambiguity to deliver impactful technical solutions.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with a creative, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distill complex technical ideas into actionable insights for clients.
  • Previous experience in client-facing roles or working on cross-functional teams is a strong plus.

What You’ll Get:

  • Competitive compensation package and benefits.
  • Chance to learn and collaborate with some of the most famous researchers in the AI and digital economy space: Andrew Ng, Erik Brynjolfsson, Andy McAfee, and Daniel Rock.
  • The unique opportunity to help build a company, culture, and products from the ground up with a team that values healthy working practices.
  • Flexibility to work fully remote, with offsites on a quarterly basis for team gatherings.
  • A high-trust, high-autonomy work environment.

At Workhelix, we stand committed to ensuring an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available without any discrimination. We believe diversity is critical to our success. Selection for employment will solely be based on qualifications, merit, and business needs. We encourage all qualified individuals to apply!

But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
