About the Team:
The Factory Test team is responsible for all hazardous testing in our Long Beach facilities. We use our breadth of experience and collaborative engineering approach to support everything from very large structural tests to precise valve actuation. To that end, we design, build, and operate all test assets in Long Beach from initial concept to test execution. About the Role:
- Design, build, and operate pressurized cryogenic/pneumatic/hydraulic systems to support cutting-edge rocket testing
- Develop and manage advanced data control systems for real-time monitoring and analysis
- Provide expert guidance to engineers on testing best practices, system capabilities, and operational limitations
- Proactively identify and mitigate hazards to ensure a safe and efficient testing environment
- Create, maintain, and refine test plans and procedures to drive consistent and reliable testing outcomes
- Troubleshoot and resolve reliability issues, improving hardware performance and test efficiency
About You:
- Experience in testing hardware, including cryogenic and mechanical systems, in high-consequence environments
- Demonstrated expertise in designing, building, and operating complex fluid, mechanical, and data control systems
- Demonstrated experience in identifying hazards, troubleshooting reliability issues, and ensuring compliance with safety standards
- Experience training and supporting team members
- Experience developing precise test plans and executing on them
- Experience operating hazardous equipment, managing multiple energy sources, and utilizing software tools for documentation and analysis
Nice to haves but not required:
- Experience with strain gauge application techniques for precise measurement and data collection
- Familiarity with version control software (GIT, SVN) to manage test data and documentation efficiently
- Hands-on experience with automation and control systems to streamline testing operations
- Knowledge of high-speed data acquisition and analysis tools for interpreting complex test results
