Job Description
Seeking an experienced C++ software developer ideally with model-based systems engineering experience. The candidate will develop system models, integrate, and test embedded C++ software supporting F-35 Prognostics Health Management (PHM) domain.
The role focuses on software development using model-based classes against the latest aircraft interface definitions. The applicant will work closely with cross-functional teams supporting design, implementation and test. The role requires a high degree of collaboration with Lockheed Martin (LM).
The applicant must have an acumen for problem solving, innovative thinking and the ability to investigate, develop, document and communicate root cause/corrective action effectively. System level testing uses Linux based virtual test stations and target hardware. Life cycle management uses Atlassian based tools.
The selected applicant must be self-motivated with strong work ethic, time-management, interpersonal and effective communication skills with the ability to present findings to internal and external audiences.
The Software Development responsibilities include:

  • Design, implement and test model-based systems
  • Embedded C++ real-time software development
  • Full software life-cycle development to AS 9100 standards
  • Source code versioning & configuration management
  • Software defect issue tracking and agile project management
  • Test prototyping software and debugging
  • Create and maintain software lifecycle documentation
  • Collaborate with BAE SYSTEMS and LM subject matter experts (SME's)
  • Present status to team and customers


Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or other related field (or equivalent experience) with at least five years of professional experience

  • Must have experience in model-driven development for creating and maintaining software and design.
  • Must show proficiency in developing and integrating models into complex systems using MBSE tools such as Rhapsody, Cameo, Simulink or similar frameworks


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Experience with Cameo Enterprise Architect or IBM Rational Rhapsody
  • 5 years C++ (or similar high level language) embedded software development experience
  • Experience of software quality, code analysis, testing and validation required.
  • Experience with aircraft vehicle system health management (i.e. engine starter generator, electrical power and thermal management systems, actuators, flight controls, propulsion)
  • Ability to maintain configuration management across product lines
  • Test driven development and automation experience
  • Proven communication experience across diverse teams in multiple locations
  • Proficiency with engineering programming languages (e.g., Python, Perl, MATLab)
  • Knowledge of embedded software development programs
  • LM test lab experience
  • Experience with Atlassian tool suite (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo)
  • Experience with static code analysis using Parasoft


Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $83900 - $142600
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
