We are seeking a strategic and visionary Director of Data Product Management to lead and oversee our data product portfolio. This individual will drive the strategic initiative to create an SSOT enterprise data platform for all transactional data assets within the organization. Also, they will be responsible for shaping the long-term vision and strategy for our data products, driving innovation, and ensuring alignment with business objectives. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in data product management, a deep understanding of data analytics, and exceptional leadership skills to guide a high-performing team. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, intellectually curious, analytical, and possesses an entrepreneurial mindset. 

The Enterprise Data & Analytics Center of Excellence (COE) team builds internal analytic partnerships, strengthening focus on the health of the business, portfolio, and revenue optimization opportunities. We are a hands-on global team providing scalable end-to-end data solutions. Working closely with the business, we influence decisions across EverCommerce through data-driven insights. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Strategic Vision and Leadership: Develop and execute the overarching strategy for the data product portfolio, ensuring alignment with company goals and market demands. Define long-term product vision and strategic objectives to drive growth and innovation. 
  • Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of data product managers, analysts, and other key personnel. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture, providing guidance, professional development, and support to team members. 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with senior executives, engineering, data science, and business units to align product roadmap and strategies with company-wide initiatives. Facilitate communication and coordination to ensure seamless execution and delivery of data products and projects.  
  • Data Products Portfolio Accountability: This individual will be the bridge between the Enterprise Data & Analytics COE and the business. They will develop D&A roadmaps in partnership with the business, prioritize and drive data products/projects. The core responsibility of this individual will be to oversee the entire lifecycle of data products, from ideation through development, launch, and iteration. Ensure that product roadmaps are effectively managed and that projects are delivered on time and within budget. 
  • Market and Competitive Analysis: Conduct comprehensive market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and threats. Use insights to refine product strategies and drive market differentiation. 
  • Performance Metrics and Reporting: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess product performance and impact. Provide regular updates and strategic recommendations to senior leadership based on data-driven insights.  
  • Data Governance and Quality: Enforce data governance policies and processes to ensure the quality, integrity, and security of our data assets. Partner with various team to define standards and best practices for data management, documentation, and compliance, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry standards. 
  • Delivery Management: Ensure the timely delivery of data products, managing project timelines, scope, and resources effectively. Implement best practices for project management to track progress, mitigate risks, and ensure successful delivery. 

Skills and Experience Required: 

  • Experience: At least 8-10 years of experience in product management with a focus on data products or analytics solutions. Proven track record of leading large-scale data product initiatives and managing cross-functional teams. 
  • Strategic Acumen: Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic product plans that align with business objectives. Experience in setting and achieving long-term product goals and driving business growth. 
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth understanding of data analytics, modern data platform, data science, and relevant technologies. Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and advanced knowledge of SQL or similar querying languages. 
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and management abilities, with a history of building and guiding high-performing teams. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders. 
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Advanced analytical skills with the ability to leverage data to drive strategic decisions and solve complex problems. Strong problem-solving capabilities and a keen attention to detail. 
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present complex ideas clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences, including executive leadership. 
  • Agile Expertise: Extensive experience with agile methodologies, including Scrum or Kanban, and the ability to implement agile practices to deliver value incrementally. Experience leading agile transformations and fostering an agile mindset within teams. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g., MBA) or relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner) are a plus. 
  • Digital Transformation: Experience leading data related digital transformation work for a large organization. 
  • Data Science: Data science product experience tied to delivering business value across varied functions of an organization. 

Key Performance Metrics: 

  • Strategic Impact: Measure the alignment and success of data products with the company’s strategic goals. Track progress towards achieving long-term product vision and business objectives. 
  • Team Performance: Evaluate the effectiveness of the product management team, including employee engagement, retention, and development. Assess the impact of leadership on team performance and productivity. 
  • Product Success: Monitor the success of data products in the market, including adoption rates, user satisfaction, and revenue contribution. Track key product performance metrics and identify areas for improvement. 
  • Innovation and Market Position: Assess the level of innovation in the data product portfolio and its impact on competitive positioning. Measure the success of new product launches and enhancements in differentiating the company from competitors.

Compensation: The compensation for this position is $180,000 to $220,000 USD per year in most US locations. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including location, local market variances, and candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
