Okta is looking for an Event Technology Manager to join our Strategic Events and Experiences Team.

At this role your success will be measured by the ability to scope, configure and deploy event technology and digital solutions, on-schedule, with a high level of quality, while exceeding expectations of the program stakeholders:

In order to generate the impact this position requires, we expect you to:

  • Be responsible for packaging, deploying, and continually improving the event tech solutions used for our portfolio of strategic events
  • Align with event stakeholders on scope & advise on the technology to be deployed
  • Drive overall requirements to properly configure the technology to meet the experience requirements for registration paths, housing, meeting tools, mobile app technologies, scanning, leads, digital broadcasts, and more.
  • Be curious and interested in experimenting with technology and how it can be applied against the event experience objectives.
  • Enable event stakeholders: from ensuring they know what the tech can and can’t do, to helping them understand what will be required of them
  • Simplify and clearly articulate complex concepts and decisions
  • Work within and across event tech systems to ensure the configuration of them to match the event needs
  • Leverage and or continue to improve event tech templates 
  • Articulate, track and execute all quality gates like QA complete, UAT hand-off, dry runs, executive sign-off, product releases, etc. in accordance with processes & procedures.
  • Work with event stakeholders to obtain sign-off on pre-launch testing plans before relevant launches (e.g., event registration, agenda builders, livestreams, mobile app, etc.)
  • Monitor risks and triaging issues pre-event and onsite with a sharp eye for prioritization
  • Solve problems when they arise as fast as is reasonable
  • Work with vendors and partners to resolve issues in a productive and positive way
  • Partner with agency and vendor partners to ensure technology is set up and ready for use
  • Facilitate onsite end-to end walkthroughs of event technology
  • Help stakeholders understand the health of tech offerings within your focus
  • Use post-event metrics and stakeholder feedback for continuous improvement
  • Ensure security, privacy & legal reviews 
  • Travel up to 25% of time (US and globally when needed)

Basic Qualifications:

  • Registration and event system tools management of large-scale events. This would include deep understanding and experience with ERC, SRC, content catalog, housing tools, mobile app, live and on-demand event technologies.
  • Strong ability to work cross-functionally across internal teams and lead vendors independently
  • Experience leading live online events independently produced as well as live broadcasts of large in-person events.
  • Establish effective processes, meetings and milestones and regularly communicate deadlines and interdependencies.

Additional Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of demonstrated success in a similar role
  • Experience deploying and managing event tech and services like RainFocus, EventBase, CVENT, IBM, Vidyard, etc.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities while managing a high-volume of event execution responsibilities 
  • Strong proficiency in gaining alignment and communicating with key inter-departmental collaborators
  • Demonstrate an ability to take initiative, anticipate needs, act independently, and effectively risk mitigate under a constantly changing landscape
  • Experience leading dispersed vendors

Below is the annual base salary range for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York and Washington. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in California (excluding San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, New York, and Washington is between:

$132,000$198,000 USD
