About Cinder

Cinder provides a cutting-edge platform to protect the internet. Trust & Safety teams at the world’s most influential companies need powerful solutions that allow them to innovate and adapt as quickly as the threats they face. Companies rely on our software to make policies, label, moderate, enforce, investigate, and disrupt threats like hate groups and state-sponsored disinformation campaigns.

We’re seeking an Account Executive to join our team. We’re building an enterprise-grade platform to make the internet safer and we need highly curious, hard-working self-starters.

We operate as a fully remote company with teammates in NY, DC, London, Austin, and SF, among other cities. This role will operate primarily in US Eastern time zone. We believe in the value of frequent in-person meet-ups and learning face to face. We offer health, vision & dental benefits and a 401(k) plan with employer matching.

What you’ll do

  1. Work closely with new and existing customers to deeply understand their Trust & Safety challenges and goals.

  2. Work directly with the founding team, and in a team selling environment: investors, advisors, employees, founders. Everyone pitches in.

  3. Be relentless and intentional about building pipeline.

  4. Identify and empathize with key partner needs to launch and grow partnerships.

  5. Drive engagement with technical and non-technical buyers.

  6. Vertically integrate your work experience—to drive sales strategy and manage the nuts and bolts in Salesforce, Apollo etc to manage and grow a robust sales pipeline.

  7. Work closely with customer engineering teams to prioritize product improvements and new features to keep our existing product offerings sharp and relevant.

  8. Work closely with Cinder product designers and investigations experts to craft a consumer-grade experience for our customers.

About you

  1. 2+ years of experience selling B2B SaaS to enterprise accounts with at minimum high five-figure deals.

  2. Wide-ranging curiosity. We are creating a category and shipping a product with little precedent. Strong candidates do not need experience with platform governance, but they must demonstrate curiosity and humility in learning a new space so they can communicate effectively with our buyers and user base.

  3. Experience successfully selling and winning complex, multi-month+ sales cycles.

  4. Comfortable operating at a small company—you’ve created or tweaked a successful sales motion, and seen one built from the ground up.

  5. Experience successfully navigating and leveraging partnership agreements.

  6. Experience with sales in a fluid category creation motion with multiple buyer personas

  7. Comfort with ambiguity and an ability to take initiative.

  8. Relentless optimism balanced with realism: assume the best, prepare for the worst, and never leave anything to chance.

  9. Familiarity with and understanding of how the internet and other technical tools can be used for harm.

  10.  Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.

Some nice-to-haves

  1. Experience working for a social media, marketplace, or media company with knowledge of how attackers abuse these systems.

  2. Previous sales experience at a company known for producing sales talent who successfully close six-figure enterprise deals.

  3. Experience as a software developer, data scientist, or other technical background.

  4. Familiarity in information security, online safety, or other knowledge of how bad actors operate online.

  5. Experience selling software designed to empower teams defending against clear adversaries.

Why join us?

As an Account Executive at Cinder, you’ll be central to  Cinder’s growth and getting our product into the hands of the people who need it the most. We’re building and implementing the most advanced content safety system, and your customers and partner organizations are some of the world’s largest enterprises. Expect a front row seat in tackling the hardest problems for some of the most sensitive, impactful issues.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
