Job overview:

Omada Health is a digital care provider that empowers people to achieve their health goals through sustainable behavioral change. Our mission is to inspire and engage people in lifelong health, one step at a time. We combine the power of technology, human coaching, and data-driven insights to deliver world-class digital healthcare at scale.

Exceptional software enables effective, scalable healthcare, and great teams build exceptional software. We’re looking for a strong, technically adept, and people-first leader who will guide our engineers in delivering innovative, high-quality digital health solutions supporting our members on their GLP-1 journey. This role is critical to ensuring our technology effectively supports both members and care providers while maintaining the highest standards of quality and performance.

About you:

You thrive at the intersection of technical leadership, team development, and product impact. You are an empathetic and decisive leader who fosters collaboration, drives innovation, and supports career growth. You are excited to work cross-functionally, balancing business priorities, technical excellence, and a people-first culture.

You understand that managing engineers is more than just output, it’s about impact, clarity, and enabling others to do their best work. You are eager to scale both technology and teams, ensuring we continue to deliver best-in-class digital healthcare.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of talented engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, inclusion, and high performance.
  • Partner with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to align technical strategies with business goals and translate vision into actionable execution.
  • Own and drive technical roadmaps, system architecture, and engineering processes, ensuring technical excellence and scalability.
  • Engage in hands-on technical contributions (~5% of your time) through code reviews, architectural discussions, and performance optimizations.
  • Cultivate an engineering culture that values learning, experimentation, and collaboration, empowering engineers to make informed decisions.
  • Navigate complex projects within a regulated industry, ensuring security, compliance, and best practices are embedded in all aspects of development.
  • Leverage AI tools and collaborate with AI/ML experts to integrate intelligent systems into our platform.
  • Make data-driven decisions, continuously improving engineering processes and product outcomes.
  • Advocate for modern engineering best practices and help shape the future direction of technology at Omada Health.

What you need for this role:

  • 7+ years of experience in software development
  • 3+ years leading and managing engineering teams.
  • Proven track record of hiring, developing, and retaining top engineering talent.
  • Strong experience driving roadmaps, making technical trade-offs, and aligning engineering with business objectives.
  • Hands-on background in software development, ideally with experience supporting mobile and web-based platforms.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, balancing technical and business considerations effectively.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment where collaboration is key.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a bias for action, you focus on impact over process.
  • Experience in healthcare and knowledge of security/compliance best practices is a plus.

Technologies we use:

Ruby on Rails, React, AWS (RDS with PostgreSQL, SQS, S3), GraphQL, Docker, Kubernetes

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary with generous annual cash bonus
  • Stock options
  • Remote first work from home culture
  • Flexible vacation to help you rest, recharge, and connect with loved ones
  • Generous parental leave
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance (and above market employer contributions)
  • 401k retirement savings plan
  • Two giftable Omada enrollments per calendar year
  • Lifestyle Spending Account (LSA)
  • Mental Health Support Solutions
  • ...and more!

It takes a village to change health care. As we build together toward our mission, we strive to embody the following values in our day-to-day work. We hope these hold meaning for you as well as you consider Omada!

  • Cultivate Trust. We actively cultivate trust through attentive listening and supporting one another. We respectfully provide and are open to receiving candid feedback.

  • Act Boldly. We innovate daily to solve problems, improve processes, and find new opportunities for our members and customers.
  • Deliver Results. We reward impact above output. We set a high bar, we’re not afraid to fail, and we take pride in our work.
