About the Role


We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our Platform Engineering squads, overseeing our SRE and API teams. Reporting to the SVP of Engineering, you will own the scalability, reliability, and developer experience of our platform which processes millions of API calls and transactions daily.


You will drive the technical strategy and execution for our platform infrastructure and public APIs. Your team ensures our platform can seamlessly support our rapid product development and business growth at scale. You will establish SRE best practices to achieve high reliability and uptime. You will lead the expansion of our Public API to enable new integrations and an ecosystem of partner apps. This is a high-impact role critical to the success of our core platform.

What You'll Do

  • Directly manage and grow the SRE and Public API teams within Platform Engineering
  • Own the SLAs, uptime, and operational health of our production backend and APIs
  • Drive SRE initiatives to improve observability, incident response, and application health
  • Define the roadmap for our Public API and lead development of new API capabilities
  • Evolve our backend architecture to improve performance, scalability and fault tolerance
  • Work closely with other engineering leaders on cross-cutting projects and initiatives
  • Recruit and develop top backend and site reliability engineering talent
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders in Product and Revenue to achieve business objectives

What You'll Need

  • 8+ years of backend engineering experience, including 3+ years leading SRE/API teams
  • Strong background in API design, microservice architectures, and distributed systems
  • Deep expertise in SRE practices, observability, application health, and incident management
  • Experience operating production backend systems at scale in high-growth environments
  • Proven ability to hire, motivate and grow high-caliber platform engineering teams
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills
  • Track record of driving engineering projects with significant business impact
  • Strong communication skills and ability to translate between technical and business needs
