About the Role:

We're searching for an Engineering Manager to lead Remitly's Developer Experience (DEVX) Engineering team, reporting to our Director, Developer Platform Engineering. This role is instrumental in continuously improving our developer experience and productivity at Remitly. With data being at the forefront of the program, we will use DORA, SPACE and our own defined metrics to develop strategic solutions that are a force multiplier for developer experience and productivity improvement across Remitly. We believe that developer experience is a key piece to our overall success at Remitly and this role will have a significant impact on the business. This is a hybrid role located in our Seattle office.

You Will:

  • Lead and mentor a team of software engineers building world class developer experience solutions
  • Develop long-term organizational and technical strategy impacting how engineering works across the company
  • Drive measurable improvement in developer productivity and sentiment across the company through collaboration with our worldwide engineering teams
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to gather qualitative feedback to help define the DEVX roadmap and prioritize
  • Build solutions with security, compliance and operational excellence as foundational components
  • Identify new technologies and trends early to provide our developer community with a continuously improving ecosystem
  • Partner and set technical direction in key areas across Remitly

You Have:

  • 2+ years of experience leading Developer Experience or Platform teams
  • Deep understanding and passion for developer experience and productivity
  • 5+ years of experience working with cloud native applications and cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Software development experience in one or more of: Python, Java, Go, C++, Rust, etc.
  • Familiarity with DORA, SPACE and productivity metrics
  • Experience building and developing strong engineering teams
  • Experience with driving changes that improve overall productivity and engineering efficiency.
  • Ability to partner and communicate effectively with executives, managers and engineers

Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $194,000 - $242,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
