Position Overview
At Thrive, a Voice Implementation Engineer is responsible for completing telephony projects for new and existing clients. This position’s primary objective is to perform site assessments and engineering tasks required to onboard Thrive Managed Voice Services as defined within Thrive Orders and Scopes of Service. A Voice Implementation Engineer will work with other Engineers, Project Managers and Thrive clients to accomplish those goals and objectives for successful rollouts of Thrive Voice Solutions and Service Offerings.
Responsibilities

Travel to client locations to perform comprehensive site assessments based on project requirements including:

Identify any ancillary voice devices and associated analog line dependencies.

Assess the network and infrastructure readiness of a location for VoIP and identify any telephony requirements of a location, any additional cabling needs, and overall recommendations.

Implementation of IT projects related (but not limited to) the following:
-
Implementation of Microsoft Teams Voice
-
Porting of numbers between carriers
-
Configuration of advanced telephony
-
Ability to handle diverse telephony environments in a wide cross section of business clients

Analyze and document an unfamiliar client environment while assessing the quickest path to completion of project goals

Clearly and professionally communicate project plans, potential impacts and testing procedures to customers.

Track and manage time effectively to accomplish multiple ongoing projects.
Qualifications
Minimum
-
Must be willing and able to travel frequently (approximately 50% of the time), including overnight stays
-
Travel and accommodation expenses covered by Thrive
-
Bachelor’s Degree, Technical Degree or equivalent work experience
-
1-3 years of experience in successful operation and support of voice and data networks
-
Self-motivated with ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Preferred
-
Experience using ServiceNow (or other project management software)
-
Experience in ITIL methodology and change management processes
-
Knowledge of traditional phone systems, Avaya/Nortel/NEC/Star2Star strongly preferred

Familiarity with modern VoIP systems, Teams/8x8 strongly preferred
