Job overview: 

The Director of Engineering for AI and Data Technology will lead the vision, strategy, and execution for Omada’s AI and data platforms, driving innovation and operational excellence across analytics, data science, and machine learning initiatives. This role focuses on enabling a high-performing team to deliver scalable, efficient, and impactful technology solutions while aligning with organizational goals and empowering data-driven decision-making across the company.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Roadmap and Vision: Define and drive the strategic roadmap for AI and data technologies, ensuring alignment with business goals and shaping the technical vision for cutting-edge AI, generative models, and data platform advancements.

Enterprise Data and AI Platforms: Establish scalable, secure, and enterprise-grade platforms that enable analytics, machine learning, and operational insights, optimizing systems for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.

Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with cross-functional leaders to anticipate business needs, align priorities, and enable strategic decision-making through innovative data solutions.

Team Leadership and Development: Lead, inspire, and grow a world-class engineering team, fostering collaboration, technical excellence, and professional development while driving team performance and hiring.

Innovation and Technology Adoption: Drive the evaluation, adoption, and implementation of innovative tools and technologies to advance data science, AI, and analytics capabilities across the organization.

Advocacy and Governance: Advocate for and implement best practices in data architecture, security, and governance, ensuring compliance with industry standards while representing Omada as a thought leader in data and AI innovation.

 

About you: 

You are a strategic leader with a passion for data and AI technologies. You thrive in solving complex, high-impact problems and excel at building high-functioning teams. Your ability to collaborate across functions, align strategies with organizational priorities, and foster a culture of innovation and excellence makes you an invaluable leader.

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, data platforms, or related fields, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of delivering enterprise-scale platforms for analytics, data science, and AI.
  • Strong technical background in data architecture, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and modern data tools.
  • Experience with AI-specific infrastructure, model serving, and machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Knowledge of distributed computing and DevOps practices for data pipelines and platforms.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to manage ambiguity.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and leadership skills to influence at all levels of the organization.

  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as GDPR and HIPAA.
  • Experience in integrating BI and reporting tools with enterprise data platforms.
  • Thought leadership in emerging AI technologies and their application to business problems.

Below is a summary of salary ranges for this role in the following geographies:

California, New York State and Washington State Base Compensation Ranges: $225,400 - $281,800*, Colorado Base Compensation Ranges: $215,600 - $269,500*. Other states may vary.

This role is also eligible for participation in annual cash bonus and stock options. 

*The actual offer, including the compensation package, is determined based on multiple factors, such as the candidate's skills and experience, and other business considerations.
