The big picture: Axios is a modern media company dedicated to providing trustworthy, award-winning news in an audience-first format. We’re looking for an experienced, visual storyteller with a passion for communicating brand, product, and big ideas in collaboration with colleagues across the organization.

Why it matters: As we continue to build our Brand Strategy and Partner Marketing arm, it is imperative we cultivate a team of experienced marketers who can support our Client Partnerships team with clear product marketing collateral, winning go-to-market narratives and original proposals. This individual should be a mix of creative and business-minded, with an eye towards enhancing Axios brand awareness and an interest in increasing overall company revenue.

Go deeper: Reporting into the Director, Partner Marketing and within Axios’ revenue organization, the Manager, Partner Marketing will work closely with cross-company colleagues to spearhead the creation of product marketing collateral and original proposals for our advertising partners. Responsibilities include:

  • Product marketing: You will work closely with colleagues across Axios Live, Client Services, the Creative House and more to craft original, design-forward and data-backed narratives that support Axios products. This includes:
    • Leading on the creation and management of all product marketing materials across our National and Local business.
    • Managing key internal resources.
    • Working with Axios Live to ensure all Live marketing materials are GTM-ready for all past, current and future programming across our suite (IP, Houses and tentpoles and custom).
    • Partnering with Client Services, Ad Operations and Axios Intelligence to ensure all materials are equipped with the most up to date metrics. You will also work with these teams to support new product ideation and to ensure proper processes are followed for launching new products.
  • Proposal building: You will partner with your colleagues in Partner Marketing, Brand Strategy and Client Partnerships to respond to incoming RFPs across our National and Local suite.
    • You should be proficient with crafting strategic program narratives using data and insights, responding in a creative, thoughtful and customized fashion.
    • You will lead pre-sale intake calls and brainstorming sessions, supporting a high influx of requests from across the Client Partnerships team.
    • You will play an integral role in ideating, developing and packaging innovative opportunities that incorporate the full suite of Axios offerings, including: custom content, events, social, video, high-impact media, and more.
  • Thought leadership: You will be expected to understand our advertisers’ business goals and how to pair them with the most effective Axios product solutions.
    • You will be expected to have a general understanding of the market including what our competitors are doing and how we can stay ahead of industry shifts.

Zoom in: Ideal candidates will be endlessly curious. They’ll embody an entrepreneurial spirit and passion for Axios’ mission and have the following skills:

  • 3-5 years of experience in ad sales marketing (digital, publishing and/or integrated marketing)
  • Experience building marketing campaigns and programs, with a focus on creative strategy and campaign development
  • History of driving creative collaboration and delivering best-in-class ideas that connect with consumers and deliver results for advertisers
  • Excellent writing, proofreading and verbal communication skills 
  • Diligence and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment 
  • Design-minded with the ability to create effective visual presentations; Proficiency in Google Slides preferred
  • Experience working with financial services, technology, nonprofit, automotive, retail and healthcare clients is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 

Starting salary for this role is in the range of $59,000 - $93,000 and is dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, and skills. This range does not include other compensation and benefits. Axios' compensation philosophy takes into account cost of labor differentials across the country. Because this is a remote-optional job posting, this salary range takes into account all possible locations within the United States, but candidates will only be eligible for the salary range for their location.

Note that the total compensation offered for this role includes a sales incentive component, which is contingent upon the successful achievement of predetermined sales targets.
